I could be wrong but weren't those kids who weren't well off though or maybe even orphans? I can see them being intimidated or being ignored. I can't see upper middle to wealthy parents letting this shite happen or being ignored.

That's fair, I believe you're correct.
However, it's not like this kind of thing is unheard of at private schools.
