We could do a whole lot worse than Charlie Strong. And probably will.

Anyone that is upset with Chad Morris being hired is a moron.

Dude took a 1-11 SMU program and in his 3rd year has them poised to win 8 games. But there are people that don't want him just because the Tuohy's like him? Get out of here.

That being said, if we have a choice between Strong and Morris and we don't take Strong, I wouldn't be happy.

From what I have read they don’t want him because he is connected to the Taco’s, overall losing record as a head coach, and abysmal defense.

Agreed. This is who I want personally. But I still don't think he'd take the job. One, he might get a better offer with how many big program openings there are, and two, would he want to leave USF for us? I mean he's got it made there; recruiting location is great, easier competition, and he gets to live in Tampa. I just don't see it happening, but who knows, stranger things have happened.

Took over a 1-11 team, went 2-10 his first year, 5-7 his second year and is currently 7-5. He had to build the program. That's why he has a losing record.

So hire a good defensive coordinator.

he has an overall losing record as a HC because he took over for an 1-11 SMU team. He has them bowling in year 3. Its all about looking at the trend. The Tuohy stuff doesnt scare me off. Get him a good DC and id be ok with it. Id be happy with McGriff staying on

I’m not on that train. Just trying to make sense of the other crap on twitter and RG. They think it’s more of the good ol boy network if he’s hired and Taco jr. will be on staff and all that yada yada

That system got us to a Sugar Bowl. Learn from the mistakes that got us in trouble and just don't get caught this time.

if we get a 2 year bowl ban, might as well give Luke a 3 year deal. it will be that long before we can hire A decent coach again.

Maybe by then Luke will be ready. A couple of new C/Os wouldnt hurt. If he had won the Cal, Arky and aTm games Everyone would be on board with hiring him for sure.

No need to hire someone else that isn't ready to run a program.

This is obviously just a rumor so take it for what it's worth. But from what I'm hearing us winning the other night helped us out a lot on the NCAA front. We are bowl eligible and are already banning ourselves from the post-season so it's likely the NCAA won't add anymore post season bans. But they will still hit us pretty heavy with scholarship losses and we will be on probation for 4-5 years

Morris would be a good hire. Up tempo offense, great recruiter (recruited Watson at Clemson), and kids like him.

I know there is only Luke hate everywhere. But this is how I feel.

Also without Luke we may lose more players.

That being said IF they don’t add more years of bowl ban then we need to go out and grab someone.

I'll explain why people don't like it. Nearly 5 months of a search and the best candidates are a guy who has been average to below average in a horrible conference and another guy who was on the hot seat at NCST. Come on man. If Morris is getting the job, why the hell did we pay for a search committee and what the hell is Bjork being paid for just to make a good ol boy hire that Touhy would have made anyway?

A guy going 7-5 in a terrible conference doesn't scream perfect candidate for a SEC gig.

As far as his recruiting, did he recruit Watson or DID Clemson recruit Watson.

Bama, UGA, and Auburn are the three top teams in the conference. So why the hell are we going after offense if defense is what wins in this conference?

There are better candidates than Morris with known interest in the job. Morris would be an extremely underwhelming hire to me.

He also finishes middle of the pack in a terrible conference in recruiting and has yet to field a defense.

I wish this were true, but it's been my impression our punishment had already been decided. Now I suppose they can always change something, but not sure if that would be standard operating procedure. Then again, little has been standard about this whole process.
