sterk announced it yesterday as well as mentioning he keeps having conversations with illini and ku is still a whining pussy.
As a st. Louisan, id much rather play illini. ku will soon enough be in with south dakota and wyoming. Have fun losers.

Kansas is cutting off their nose to spite their face. A KC game against Missouri early in the season probably gets national attention, something they need desperately right now. Win or lose it increases their profile and helps their recruiting.

Hell, make it a yearly game and you get to be the one B12 program that can promise a game against the SEC every year.

Before too long if Missouri schedules Kansas its going to be because Southern Miss wanted too much money to come up to Columbia for a game and the MAC teams were all busy that weekend.

frick Kansas.
We should never schedule them again in basketball. Ever.

When they end up in the Big Blue Sky conference or whatever, they may be more interested in scheduling us. At which point in time we burn down their city again.

I am a KC guy and really hate the idea of playing in Arrowhead. It is never full and looks bad on TV. I mean seriously who is going to watch them play BC there?

Illinois is a really boring football rival tho. I guess playing them is important in keeping recruits tho.

Frick ku and playing them. That ship has sailed for me

A game at Arrowhead with Nebraska would sell out. I'd rather do a home and home with them but that would generate a lot of interest.

Nubs would make since agree but BYU and BC just no.

Your statement made it sound like playing at Arrowhead period was a poor decision. I think a game there vs Kansas State or Iowa could sell out as well. Play it the 3rd or 4th weekend of September when KC is on the road.

The problem is that BC does not travel. BYU isn't really known as a school whose fans travel either. Neutral site games with them won't bring in the fans.

Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas State, even Arkansas, could sell out the stadium I would think.

I do think that Missouri should have a neutral site game every other year or so at KC but only if you can land an opponent who will travel to the game.

I am not arguing that BC and BYU are solid neutral site opponents at all and don't care if MU ever schedules KU in football again. BBall? Sure.

This was the part of his statement I was addressing.

I was at the Border War every year it was played in KC. KU stopped showing up after 2009 but from 2007-2009 the stadium was full.

Right, I get what you mean and I agree. I do think Arrowhead would be a great place for Missouri to play with the right opponent who will travel to the game.

Playing at Arrowhead isn't the problem. Its the choice of team Missouri is bringing in for that game.

I agree that the Nubs would sell out and be a big game. I still as a rule am not a fan of neutral site games. Yes the 2007 & 2008 games were full but unless you can fill the place up it does look like crap on tv.

If the Nubs played Mizzou in KC, STL or Columbia it's going to look like a Nub's home game.

Very true. They travel like crazy. I was the first big 12 championship game with the nubs and texas and it was a sea of red.

I hate any game in KC or STL that doesn't include a regional rival. It's completely stupid.

I was at the first Big 12 title game at The TWA dome in St Louis between Nebraska and Texas.

The entire uper bowl was all Red. Hate the bug eaters but it was impressive.

Well sure. That's kind of the point of scheduling them. 65% of Nebraska's total population lives within 3 hrs of Arrowhead. A night game at Arrowhead at the end of Sept. would at worst be selected for ESPN. If both teams are ranked it's on ABC.

Total agreement. If you're going to play at Arrowhead it needs to be a game that's either a big F-U to the XII or Kansas. A game that will dominate the sports pages and broadcast for a solid week.

A half full stadium vs. a non-rivalry team a thousand miles away only makes Mizzou look bad.
