Sources tell me former Irish QB Malik Zaire is telling people he has chosen Florida, is now just waiting for SEC to change transfer rules.

I don't feel great about this. Could mean a couple things, like no confidence in Franks or LDR. That's all bad news if it's the case

LDR is awful so I'm fine with Zaire coming in. I don't think this really has much to do with Franks.

I'm not much on the LDR train either and I'm hopeful one of the young QBs can show out and we can finally have some consistency. Truthfully I haven't seen a lot of Zaire.

IMO this is not good, hoping the SEC doesnt change the rule.

How is it not a good thing? It's always good to being in guys with talent. I think it is Franks job to lose. He is the guy that's been in the system for two years. If he can't beat out a guy that just got to campus in June then that's an indictment on him.
Relax guys. If Zaire is good then it will be a great move. If Franks starts and Zaire never touches the field, then we will be happy to have had the extra depth. There's no negative that comes of this, unless the least likely of all scenarios, that is, Zaire plays every game for us and sucks, which would stunt Franks growth and learning curve. But I don't see Zaire coming here and being anything more than a backup and another grown man in the quarterback room that's been around the college game for 4-5 years.

Am I the only one that feels like coach Mac and Nuss are just throwing shite at a barn door at QB to see what sticks? With all this uncertainty, we had better field an above average quarterback this season or both their seats will be warming considerably.

I agree with you. They are desperate to find a good QB.
They know they have to show progress on offense this year or their seats will be on fire.

Sweet, now we can make Toney the back up and shift back to an offensive approach that isn't as archaic as it is ineffective.
The Nusschamp approach has failed, time to go back to the spread.

Mac's scheme is considerably better than what we saw under Muschamp. We just haven't had a quarterback capable of hitting open receivers. That's allowed defenses to fill the box, leading to us being incapable of running the ball.
Just an example, it's no coincidence that once Appleby hit Cleveland for a 98 yard touchdown pass, LSUs defense had to loosen up and respect the pass, which is why we were so successful running the ball in the second half.
There's a plan on offense that wasn't there before. I'm ready for us to have a quarterback capable of executing that plan. I hope it's Franks, but if Zaire is capable, it doesn't matter who it is.
The only problem I have with our offense is that I wish we had more pace and flow to it. If we get to the line of scrimmage and run through our motions and pre snap shifts and snap the ball with 15-20 seconds left on the play clock as opposed to 5-10 seconds left, it gives the defense less time to process our shifts, less time for them to communicate, and it gives us more flow to our offense. I'd like to see Mac make that adjustment.

Guys, don't be surprised, if he is healthy, that Del Rio is the starting QB in 2017. Fans love Franks but Coaches love consistency. Alabama doesn't win championships due to superstar QBs but they do have consistent, dependable QB that plays within the system. I will pull for whomever takes the field but don't be surprised if it's Del Rio.

Im sorry, but I will lose my shite if Del Rio is starting against Michigan after how he played last year.

The East sucks.
Tennessee has talent but is probably (for the first time in years legitimately) too inexperienced.
UGA is the same with a better defense and a much worse OL.
South Carolina scares me more than UGA and Tennessee do right now. Muschamps teams play hard.
Not gonna consider UK a threat until they can actually beat UF and I don't see that happening this year.
Vandy doesn't have enough talent and Mizzou is Mizzou.
There had better damn well be some improvement offensively.

It's impossible for the offense NOT to be better this year. We have one of the best WR corps in the nation, finally an offensive line that's returning starters and should be above average, two good, proven SEC running backs. Franks shouldn't have to be anything spectacular for the offense to be good.
Give me 2000 passing yards 18 TDs and 8 INT, 200 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs for the season and I will be ecstatic with our ~65th ranked offense and 11-1 regular season record.

I don't have a dog in this hunt but I just hope the best QB rises to the top and that is who plays, I just won't be surprised if it ends up being Del Rio. Go Gators.
I won't lose my shite until the first pick 6.

2000 passing yards in 12 games would be PATHETIC with this OL and WR corp. PATHETIC. UF threw 18 TDs last year with the walking dead at QB.

Honestly, I saw a spark with Del Rio but I think a few terrible games ruined his chances at going the correct route, along with a terrible arm.
If Zaire started, I wouldn't be too upset, having two Redshirt Freshmen as our best options going into a year isn't great, and I'd prefer that they performed more as a backup anyway.
The QB position is scary, but with the OL, WRs and even our RBs, we should be a whole hell of a lot more productive this year.
Oh, and a full 12 game regular schedule without losing a cupcake.
