It happens more than you think. It only takes (as you have shown) 1 good player to turn around the fortunes.

Enjoy your one year of semi relevance in the SEC. We'll see if it holds up for the entire year.

LSU thought they would with Simmons too and it didn't materialize.

Holy shite, Mizzou only won 7 games!? We won 4 in the NCAA tournament alone.
