Old should include Georgia Tech and Tulane.

Baseball had divisions in the old 10 team SEC. Switch Auburn and Vanderbilt and you have it the way they had it.

No. 4/2 split on big 6. Would be the same as now minus Arky and Sakerlina.

Then you would need to include Sewanee.

But we are back to an uneven 13.

There's no real use in a 9 game conference schedule AND divisions if you only have 10 teams.

Auburn was in SEC baseball's eastern division through 1975. Vanderbilt (and Florida) were very early members of the SEC West.

North: Kentucky, Tennessee, Vandy, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn
South: LSU, Tulane, Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss. St., Florida

East
UGA, UF, UT, Vandy, KY
West
Bama, AUB, State, OM, LSU
The cool thing in baseball was we played each other twice(6 games) each season. So State played LSU in BR and STKVL and OM at Oxford and home and on. So it made for some great back and forth with the teams throughout the season.
After 1992 with the expansion, we only play each other 3 times each year. Kind of eliminates some of the heated rivalries from before.

The new SEC is so much better. Thank god for Missouri.

Jesus, and you frickers hate Bama now. I hate to imagine what you'd think of them in that model.

Alabama doesn't have a baseball team.

Yes we do. It's just destined to lose all SEC games in one run affairs.

See the 1970's. 8 league titles in 10 years. And 3 Natties and robbed of a 4th in 77. They hated our guts because everyone was playing for second place

Jesus Christ I needed that laugh.

It's true, every conference needs an Iowa state type college to beat on. Basically an OOC game for most SEC schools now a days.
