The comparison with Clowney I'd worry about is some one pointing out that like Clowney, Garrett tended to disappear against big time competition. Unlike Clowney, with Garrett I'd worry it's because he can't beat tackles with elite size and athleticism.

Not totally fair to Clowney, sorry was thinking of his final year not the one before it where he and Lattimore kind of carried the Cocks to an East title along with the greatest QB in USCe history (we all loved the Mullet and the pocket sized party but Shaw was a better QB than Tanneyhill or Garcia).

It depends on the position-- can you really blame a RB for not wanting to carry it 25-30 times a game late in the year for a team that's say barely going to make a bowl?
After Lattimore my perspective is way different- that guy was, for 18 or so games, one of the five best RBs the SEC has seen since the Bo and Herschel days and because of his knee he never got out of camp.
"Student Athlete" they get to attend a great university, make contacts, and most injured guys get hooked up with a position. I hate injuries, but again I stick with my argument that they shouldn't "preserve" themselves in a competitive sport. This is like me sleeping at work because I want energy to have fun on the weekend.

Comparing Garrett to Clowney is like comparing Jonathan Stewart to David Johnson

when healthy he is a top 5 pick. not sure if he is worth that gamble or not... i'd need to check his wonderlic score. That's how i usually determine whom is the best

Clowney will forever haunt Aaron Murray and Taj Boyd in their sleep.

Not that Clowney is that good of a Pro, but Garrett is nowhere near him.

Clowney is just a physical freak and I think that separates him from any recent DE to come out.

Garrett had higher bench, very, and maybe even broad jump #s at a bigger size. It's pretty clear Garrett is in the same high tier at Clowney in freaky athletism.

i think the only physical measure clowney bested him was height and the 40 YD.

In the NFL or in College?

Kinda hate that he's good.
Would rather see Watson go to Cleveland and fail.

Thats it? Just height and speed?

I'm still surprised Clowney only did 21 reps on bench. That's nothing impressive

That and he was fat and slow. One big hit. Just like a Mante Tao. Over rated as frick with a good story line.

Just my opinion. We all have them. I didn't find his last season in college impressive.
