No fan base has an 85% segment like bammer does. Hate to say it because I live in Alabama but it's true. Yes you can find crazy pictures of LSU fans but they live like that on Saturdays for the most part, not everyday of their lives.

1.Bama
2.UGA...based largely by sheer numbers
3.UF

Dark horse is Mizzou. Those are some trash arse people.

I feel bad for my friends that are upstanding citizens and Alabama fans

For each of them in Alabama, it feels like at least 10 cars that are well psat 20 years old with a garbage bag in the window, chipped paint surrounding their multiple Alabama/houndstooth hat stickers driven by morbidly obese smoking women who probably don't watch football

That's simply not true. It's just been larger and more vocal in the last decade or so. Mid-90s it was the Vols who were like this. Early-00s it was LSU who like this. There wasn't 24 hour hot takes and cell phone video footage then, so it wasn't as in-your-face.

The point is, the stereotypes about 'fanbases' are just the stereotypes about southerners in general. Some people jump on and off bandwagons but largely the fanbases are interchangeable. For some you mix in jokes about moonshine or meth, for some it's coonasses, other homosexuality. But it's all the same played-out jokes for the most part.

I'm willing to bet the majority of Arkansas fans couldn't have graduated from Arkansas. Most of the Kentucky fans couldn't have graduated from Kentucky, and so on. There really aren't deeply ingrained pro teams in this part of the country and therefore most residents throw their support behind one of the large state schools, it's just a fact.
