Yall shoulda been in Auburn for hurricane Opal or the snow storm we had one year.

Blue skies in auburn where I'm at now

Yea, the problem isn't going to be from rain or thunder with this storm. The air right now is very similar to how it was back in 2011. Tornado/storm could literally pop up out of nowhere. As the temperature continues to rise some, risk elevates.

Heard on the news they haven't seen conditions quite like this since Enterprise, as far as the late afternoon/early evening stuff is concerned.
Not to pass this off to other people but it's been mildly encouraging that most of the storms have waited to get bad until after crossing into GA

Exactly. The biggest problem is just how unpredictable it is. If it was just the thunderstorms, that would be one thing, but its the fact that the prediction is that things could be their worst after the storms pass. That's when you have issues with people not staying safe.

It looks pretty calm outside here in Bham. 35% chance of rain now, supposed to clear out by 430. So doubt anything else happens.

Yea, this lull was expected. Morning storm was not the bad storm. By about 3, things will start popping up sporadically and very quick. Bham is right on the dry line. Everything east of that is under warning.

Well are you taking off work early? My boss is taking off early but leaving it all up to me for everyone else. BITCH
Posted on 4/5/17 at 2:14 pm to AUtigerNOLA
As of now, we aren't closing down, but we have a decent storm shelter at our office. By 5, most of the issues for bham should be gone, so they are saying.
Boss sounds like a poos
ETA: My dad works downtown and he closed their office at noon. I know a bunch that did the same.

My employer would stay open with a nuclear war imminent.

Bossman lives like an hour or more away so that's always the excuse. Our building is solid too for shelter and we would have notification from the Corp Office if we are closing. As of now, business as usual.

Things are looking pretty good in Bham right now. Tornado warning is still in effect until 9, but I think we may be in the clear.

Sun is shining in Bham which means it'll storm in about 30 minutes

I was there....rode out Opal at a friend's who lived at the CDV extension...it was a mess. Didn't have power or water for close to a week but we beat the hell out of State.
I remember coming out of Haley and the bottom just dropped out, then they cancelled classes shortly after....but I had to run all the way around Jordan Hare to my car and I was drenched.
I live in Madison (north AL) and we haven't had a drop of rain all day, and its been sunny most of the day.

Well that was a nothingburger of a storm day for Auburn.

We got a ton of rain, a good bit of lightning but overall not that much here in north Georgia....
Stuffed the wife's car in the garage for no reason. No hail at all up here today thankfully.. Wasn't easy making room for that beast...
