All you have to do is look at their stats maybe?

Also the fact that we didn't even offer Mathis til Fields left, yet we'd signed Plumlee for a long time?

The fact that Plumlee is a superior athlete dominating against better competition in the South?

Thanks for the vid link. I think he looks pretty good. Particularly if that is his freshman year (which is what it sounds like).

With that said, I see some pretty big flaws right now as well. Plenty of time to work and develop, but if I were rating some of the key variables right now on a -- to ++ scale, relative to his age:

Accuracy: -/+ probably neutral... lot of adjustment from his receivers required, especially noticeable on intermediate throws or longer.

Release: --, weird double hitch thing before he releases on almost anything longer than 10 yards. Maybe intentional, but doesn't seem to be a pump fake so much as just a crutch/flaw in his throwing motion. On the scramble, he does at least look to throw it, but the motion there is super awkward it seems.

Athleticism: +, Not super fast, but seems to have nice burst and stocky enough frame to hold up.

Arm Strength: +, while the motion may be delayed, he can clearly chuck it pretty good.

Decision Making: ++, Seems pretty keenly aware of what he wants to do, patient enough to let things play out as long as he is able to.

Vision: ++, Sees the field well from what we can see in the clip. Always the trick with highlights... no one picks out the plays where the fricked up.

Also... I realize these are highlights, but how good is his OL (and/or the defensive fronts he's playing against), because he rarely looks like he's in much trouble back there.

Glad we're getting in early though. Going to need to figure out wtf to do with 2020/2021 at a minimum though. If Fromm stays, that would be great, but leave us in real bind in 2021 if we end up locking in on Gunner for 2022. If he leaves, hopefully we'll know early enough to make our bid for a top candidate in the 2020 recruiting cycle (which would have decent separation from Gunner).
