All fair points. It's not like 30 years ago was yesterday, but when we're talking about all-time, you yourself said that's only 30% of their history. So for their first 70% they didn't make the tournament.

75% of those years only 1 team from each conference was allowed to make the tournament.........

And being in the same conference as Kentucky sucked

Obviously the early part of our basketball history was terrible. I don't know the history of basketball at other SEC schools, but UF didn't hire a full time basketball coach until 1960 with Norm Sloan. It wasn't taken all that seriously.

That said, we've obviously made up for most of it the last 20 or so years.
