Ha. Clemson is probably the second best team behind Bama overall the past 3 or 4 years but if you think for one minute these two teams are similar in overall talent you are delusional. It took an alcoholic child calling plays for bama to choke away the title game, without Deshaun Watson Clemson loses both championship games by multiple touchdowns. Dabo has done a good job with recruiting certain areas but the fact is Deshaun Watson is arguably the greatest QB to ever play in college and without him the tigers are a great program.. not elite. These Clemson fans man... enjoy your championship now because your program will not be back.

Please tell me more about championship teams performing worse without their best player?

Ha! That's what they told us 35 years ago, and look here - we're back.

It wasn't all DW, as everyone but you seems to realize. Alabama certainly didn't choke that game away. Do you even watch football?

Clemson's D has led the nation 4 straight years in TFL. Venables is on the sidelines. Clemson will have what is arguably the best defensive front next year. 5 star WRs all over the place. It's not one guy.

But, no one has Alabama's depth. I think if they had been pushed more throughout the season, their second stringers would have been more prepared, or the staff might have had more confidence in them. As it was, the SEC didn't put up much of a fight for them last year. They were saddled with a weaker than normal schedule.
