DraftExpress Profile
NBADraft Net Profile
Star of France's U17 team at the World Championships last summer.
Name popped up out of nowhere in December as he was not known to be attempting to play college basketball. 4* on 247 and Scout but Jerry Meyer has said he could rise significantly from 75th nationally as he's further evaluated.
Took officials to Tennessee, Florida and Texas Tech.
Nice get for Barnes.

If there was one player that had the… “WOW factor” in FIBA’s U17 Tournament, it was probably Pons. The French prospect was responsible for some of the top highlights of this Tournament. He is an elite athlete, even by NBA standards, with crazy leaping ability and a great body structure for his age. He shot an amazing 76.9% on 2pts and he impressed everybody with his power in finishing at the rim, but at the same time, his shooting selection wasn’t ideal and it was obvious that he depends too much on his dominant (left) hand. He is by far a better athlete than a basketball player at the moment, but the truth is that he showed real promise and he can become an excellent 3 and D player in the future.
Nice get for Barnes.

Very excited about this guys potential. Barnes first high profile pickup while at UT. Hopefully we continue to see that list grow moving forward.

He literally looks and plays like a jacked Michael Qualls from Arkansas a few years back.

Don't see the resemblance with Chad Qualls.

But seriously that seems like a solid comparison, would definitely take that level of productivity. Hopefully Barnes can continue to develop him from a skills perspective. Obviously has all the physical tools in the world.
He is a guy who I could see being nothing more than a role player at the college level or a guy who plays in the NBA for a while. A lot of possible outcomes with someone who is so far from a finished product. Seems like these would be the most fun guys to coach.

I believe he grew up in Haiti for most of his life and has only moved to Paris within the last few years to play HS/Intl. basketball. Still a huge cultural jump for sure though
