Believe it or not, one huge draw for people from the Upper Midwest is the crappie fishing in Enid, Sardis, and Grenada lakes. Those are probably three of the Top Ten crappie lakes in the country. And, it's easy to find a condo for rent in the spring semester, opposite of football season.
It's hard to find a hotel room in Grenada in Feb, Mar, April. And it's all Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois tags in the parking lots.

A retired couple from New York just moved in a couple of months ago and I asked them why and the gentlemen is really into fishing. Apparently there are a lot of things to do for retirees around here that I didn't even knew existed.
