Gary Blair I guess, but I still contend Billy G would have gotten us to the Final 4 if he stayed and kept his life together.

Who are the best from your school?
A&M - Shelby Metcalf.
The reason I didn't state Billy Gillispie is that, while his impact was incredible, he was only there 3 seasons.

Stormin' Norman was a NCAA championship coach.
Lon Kruger was great..
but obviously it is ..Mike White ;
Worst coach, may have been one of UT's best
Don Fn'Devoe..what a disaster,

I never realized arky has a solid history dating back beyond the 1970s.

why do you think that it sucks to be us now?
We know that we have the available talent pool, facilities, we just need the right coach!
Anyone you know?

I hear Pio is holding out for the Mizzou job, but he might be open to a phone call

Coach Joel Eaves was one of the best coaches in the country for years. The man invented the shuffle offense and was a fine gentleman and greatly respected in college athletics. Who do you think they named your gym after?

Hugh Durham. Recently inducted to the College Basketball HoF. Brought Nique to UGA, beat a UNC team with Michael Jordan to make the Final 4 in the early 80s

Rod Barnes or Andy Kennedy probably, though those last two Rob Evans teams were good

Wrong! C.M. Newton was your best coach.

Solid history throughout our program, since it started. Arkansas started basketball a lot later than most schools, yet still has more overall wins than 80% of the other programs all time. This is the 94th year of basketball at Arkansas.
For example...This is Indiana's 117th season of basketball, yet Arkansas only trails them all time by just over 100 victories. Arkansas is also tied with Indiana in all time win pct(64%). Both programs rank inside the top 15 of power programs all time in that category.
Arkansas has been to a Final Four in three different decades. The first being in the 1940's.
Arkansas didn't have a losing season in basketball until 1952. So that was almost 30 consecutive seasons of winning basketball prior to one of the low points in program history. From 1953-1972 Arkansas had 14 losing seasons. The worst stretch in program history. In 1973, Eddie Sutton was hired. From 1973 to 2001, again Arkansas did not have a losing season. Since 2001, Arkansas has had 5 losing seasons. Another rough stretch in the road.
Historically its a very solid program that has just seemed to have lost its way lately. I am not sure if Mike can right the ship or not.

Gary Blair for women basketball and probably Shelby Metcalf for men. However if Billy Clyde would have stayed he would still be winning championships.
He had Arkansas and Kentucky after him and I guess it was hard to turn them (especially Kentucky) down.
Too fast, too soon.
He had to retire in December from Ranger Junior College due to health reasons. His blood pressure is out of control and physicians advised him to step down due to health reason.
Hope that gets turned around and he returns to coaching.
Get well soon coach.
