It would be real tempting to look at the team going better and not can KA.
I remember when I was pining for him to be canned midseason a lot of posters here were saying "what good does it do to do it now"...this is why. You don't allow yourself to be sucked in by fool's gold.

Still need to fire him after the season.
The play of Phillips, Walton, and Barnett in SEC play does give hope to next year.
Add another guard that can score, preferably 2. Then get inside help, and next year could be a big turnaround.

I'm sure Sterk is totally following this board.
and basing any decisions off of that.

You don't have to follow this board to recognize this teams weaknesses, or recognize players with real potential.

Anyone going to WalMart?

Mark Smith at Edwardsville would fill a need.
Probably some grad transfers that could fill those needs.
Maybe if Groce is fired Tilmon could be convinced to leave and come to Mizzou.

I'm not even worried about it. Kim's fate is sealed.

He's a goddamned fool if he isn't.

Why do people like Walton? He can't shoot, bad FT shooter, bad ball handler....he can take the ball to the hole some, but even there he misses a lot of layups and gets thrown by any decent bigs. Rebounds okay for a guard.

Walton has been among our best 3-5 players in advanced stats over the past two years.
He doesn't excel in any single area, but he contributes a little bit everywhere.

KJ Walton averages in his last 4 games: 12.5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist.
This is the type of player I expected KJ to be. That was before yesterday's game.
His shot didn't improve as much as I expected this year, but if the new coaching staff can work with him on his shooting to see KJ averaging between 12-15 points a game.
His driving would also be much better on a team with shooters. Mizzou also clogs the lane with 2 post players.
He's a good role player, that the new coach can build around. Really Phillips, Barnett, Walton, Puryear is a good start.

He can't go left. I've never seen a starting player in a power 5 school that can't use both hands

KJ has gotten to a point where he realizes what he can and can't do, and he plays that way. That's a good attribute to have.
He also plays good defense and rebounds his position very well.

Mizzou has 3 of them.
Puryear and Woods can't use their right hands.
