Even though Wisky was clearly outmatched from a talent perspective they claimed that the talent at LSU would still be on par with a majority of the SEC therefore he would have no impact
It's crazy how delusional they can get

That is your selective reading, just like I wouldn't say all LSU fans thought they were going to win the NC last year.

Silliness. The majority of gumps who weren't just needling LSU fans said Aranda seemed to be a very solid hire. He ended up being even better than I thought he'd be (and I thought he'd be very good).
I think Canada will be solid as well. I don't think he's a game changer, but based on what I've seen from him at different places I think he'll use LSU's pieces well. I doubt LSU will have many games where they just don't show up on offense for 3 quarters anymore (against mediocre teams, especially). And that's a massive improvement.
