TJ nice pic...but needs a little less eye makeup imo. I love natural women.

As far as Franks.... I yelled to the rafters in the summer that he wasn't ready yet...I still think he has upside. A cannon arm doesn't mean a QB should start. Mr. Appleby had just as strong of an arm.

Franks would benefit from good coaching and learning how to set his feet. Spurrier should get together with him and just give him some good advice. Franks has to learn not to be scared of a passrush, trust his blockers and get rid of the ball.

Sure, Franks made some valuable runs while scrambling...but if you look at how many times he actually ran into a pass rusher's path and how many times he lost yardage going out of bounds or the incompletions because he was too focused on pass rushes vs looking at second and third receiver options...its a negative -

I give every QB a clean slate due to Mac n Nuss factor.

in out defense, no one would've been ready with the previous incompetent coaching staff.

I think Trask may be a sleeper for the QB position in the new offense. Keep an eye on him in the spring.

This...that staff could develop a QB if Manning landed on their sideline. He would turn into Harris in a week.

wow. same awesome feet and balance.

What we've really been neededing since Muschamp's days is an RB with vision and who can break tackles. A lot of times it seems like we just have RBs who act like it's a race to get back to the line of scrimmage.

I hope you don't break your legs jumping to conclusions, TJ.

Me 'calling' Grier a good QB before he had actually shown it is not mutually inclusive with me accepting him.

Me saying that losing 9 players, both offensive captains before the season even starts has a negative affect on the season, EQUALLY, is not mutually inclusive with me accepting them.

Their suspension had an impact, doesn't change the fact that they're shitbirds and they deserve to be off the team. You've been losing your touch.

Personally I think it's between Corral and Trask.

With Franks: He needs at least next year to get rid of all the bad habits he has, then on top of that he needs Corral and Trask to suck really bad because most Gators' fans are not as forgiving. (Not saying I'm among them, if he gives us the best chance to win games, we have to use him.)

That being said, no one can name on good quality he has as a quarterback outside of his arm strength. Does he scramble well? Once out of the ten, so many times he just runs right into a sack because he's panicking. Does he have good vision? Does he not stare down his receivers? Does he recognize when the defense is blitzing?

Everything good is his physicality, but his football IQ hovers in the low sixties -- that does not make a good quarterback.

(Not replying to you specifically, UFMAtt, just trying to avoid multiposting even further.)

It's all good. I agree it could end up being a battle between Trask and Carrol. I haven't given up on Franks but he still needs a lot of coaching up.

The problem is: He'll be a Redshirt Sophomore who doesn't even know the basics of quarterbacking. You can Google ''how to be a good quarterback'' and see that you're doing things badly. People shite on Nussmeier (and he was an awful coach, no doubt, and McElwain for sticking with Franks when he had a RS Senior on the sideline) but the things Franks do wrong are literally taught in Middle School.

Throw it away, don't stare down your receiver, know the coverage, know the blitz and of course: Don't panic.

He does all of those poorly if not terribly. He's had two years and hasn't shown me once that he can be a competent quarterback.

You are correct, I coached 5th and 6th grade football and have said those same things multiple times.

I honestly don't think he was coached at all. He has what you can't teach..arm strength and long ball touch(when he actually throws it deep). He lacks every coaching intangible though..like every single tangible. It's remarkable how bad our coaching staff was.

So...we're throwing our hope into a kid who apparently has never had any quarterback coaching from peewee until now? If someone literally doesn't know to throw it away outside of the pocket after 10 games, 7 of which he started then he's lost or completely oblivious to Google, Social Media (where everyone was telling him he was wrong) and all other forms of actually learning how to play QB.

It was a bad coaching staff, but you can only place so much blame on them when he doesn't even have pee wee fundamentals.

I'm so happy McElwain was his QB coach in Middle School and High School when they actually tell you to fricking throw it away.

shite, Franks can't read his twitter? Can't Google how to be a good quarterback? Some guys are poor beyond coaching.

The reason I wanted Del Rio to start from the very first game was obvious....yet some folks on this board were all adamant that they would be pissed if LDR started...well, they got thdeir wish.

This NOT on the previous coaching staff...they spent almost his entire frosh r/s season trying to get him to stop his windmill delivery style. I could plainly see from high school videos, his first spring game that he was way way too emotional and excitable. The only thing the previous staff was guilty of was starting him game one. He had never taken a college snap before and I knew the moment was too big for him. They waited too long to bench him imo.

I don't care who the damn coaching staff was...he wasn't going to succeed with his skill level at basic QB ing.I hope he can develop, add bulk and make a come back.

This is for recruiting fellas. I get tired of scrolling through shite to actually find recruiting info instead of you guys going back and forth. Start a thread called,"still talking about a coach we don't have anymore".

This is about the next QB, not about the previous coaching staff.

Well, that was my intention at least.
