I went to see Trae Crowder, "The Liberal Redneck", last night in Birmingham at our local comedy club. He freakin killed it. It was good to get some laughs in before this shiteshow begins. For those unfamiliar with him, check out his YouTube videos and his book. They are absolutely spot on.

He's funny, but I don't like his politics.

Isn't he getting a show or something like that?

Hopefully. This was taken from an AL.com article about him.
Liberal Redneck in 2017: This year promises to be an interesting one for Crowder, who's got his fingers crossed and his energy revved up for the TV deal with Fox. He's been working on a sitcom script with John Enbom, co-creator of the Starz comedy series "Party Down." If all goes well, it'll be filmed for a pilot episode with Crowder as the star.
Here's a description on the show from Deadline.com: "Worlds collide when Trae, based on Crowder's Liberal Redneck character, returns to his conservative Tennessee hometown to start a job at an energy research facility with his California-born wife in tow."
As envisioned by Crowder, the 30-minute sitcom pokes fun at conservatives and liberals, maintaining the the Liberal Redneck's down-home smarts and satirical edge. The language probably will get toned down -- no F-bombs, for sure -- but Crowder's confident he can keep things smart, snarky and funny.
"The show is partially set in a fictionalized government laboratory, and you can guess where that comes from," he says. "It gives us this organic way to attack both sides, and allows us to examine and skewer both ends of the spectrum. The redneck characters call people out on their bull@#*! and vice-versa."

Yep, he's funny as hell. He's blowing up everywhere. I think most of his upcoming shows are sold out. His show in Birmingham was sold out. If he can get his new TV show started, he'll really take off.

He's funny, hope the show doesn't turn out like the Rodney Carrington experiment. That shite was awful
I don't think so. He has funny people around him that I'm sure will be on the show as well. His friends, Corey Ryan Forrester and Drew Morgan, are funny as shite too.

The only thing I don't like about him.

Nope. He's the real deal. I wouldn't call him the anit-Milo Yiannopoulus.
From AL.com
Liberal Redneck reality check: People tend to ask: Is Crowder's accent for real? Do the videos express his personal views? Does he truly identify with the Liberal Redneck? The answers are yes, yes, and heck yeah.
"It's basically just me cranked up to 11," Crowder says. "I don't walk around in my day-to-day life screaming my opinions to everybody. It would be very obnoxious if you were that guy at the bank or at the grocery store. The accent gets ratcheted up, too, but that was my original accent. It's gotten toned down over the years, but if I get worked up about something, the accent comes back. If I get a phone call, and I look at it and see that a friend from home is calling, the accent comes back. I don't always talk like that, but it's a real thing. Just like I don't walk around all day being that guy, but I definitely have that guy in me."

His book should be mandatory reading for all Southerners. Well..... it is the South, so it does come in an audio book.

Saw him in Athens a couple months ago. Great show. Cool cat. He and the other comedians (who were also great) hung out and drank beers with the audience after.

He's funny but I bet he is one sad little bitch that the savior is in office.

I've heard of him, he seems pretty cool.
Would love to see one of his shows.

They were all great. That's what surprised me the most. Usually, the opening acts are not as funny as the headliner. I honestly believe that Corey, Drew, and Trae were equally hilarious. My wife and I met with them after the show and hung out a bit. They were signing books, talking with their fans, etc. They were all just down to earth good ole boys.

Actually, I wouldn't use the word sad. He's pissed to see his people, poor white southerners, vote for someone who doesn't give a damn about them. He's also pissed at liberal elites who completely write off the South and other rural areas and keep allowing this shite to happen.
