That would be nice. We could use yup grade in recruiting. I am sure Mac has come don to reality and realize that he actually needs a good QB and better talent to compete with Bama .

I really think Zook got a bad deal at UF and who's to say that he couldn't won the BCS in 2006 with his defense and his QB Leak? Tebow would have some to UF anyway...and used like Meyer did during his frosh year.

Remember that Leak was the Gatorade NATIONAL player of the year and was from North Carolina. He didnt like contact much at all and was a pocket passer.

Zook lost games because he started Leak right after the first game of the season (Univ of New Jawsey down there and Leak made typical frosh mistakes...Zook was in his second year them and first year he had Rex would did not wanna be coached), so Zook was fired when Leak was true soph. He lost to Moo State and he got fired well, Spurrier got beaten pretty bad by Moo State also...twice! And Spurrier stunned the locker room by quitting right after Orange Bowl win and Zook had to clean up.

The new Pres of UF wanted Meyer as his coach since they had history. Zook never got the chance to coach up his own players to be upperclassmen really since he didnt have much time to recruit when first hired. I have met Zook and Strong at functions and he was non stop energy.
Players loved him...he would go in the weight training room and do lifting and bench presses that put some players to shame. My guess is he is still fit.

Zook had some bad luck and the Swindle in the Swamp was a testiment to that. He should have had a W. One thing they cant take away from him is the new christening of Ron Zook Field in Tallahassee the following year when SEC officials were used (we rotated using their zebras at home and vice versa. Jack Carter or whatever his fricking name was, stole games from us. He had the redface of a true bar drinker. Ron Cherry is no better.

I doubt you are hearing anything on coaching moves that is reliable. Nobody typically has good sources on these things unless you are directly involved in the decision making. Way too much misinformation in these things.

Really can't believe Mac is going to ride or die with Nuss, I mean the man seems manifestly incompetent and looking at his past history doesn't help-- at his peak Nuss was a middle of the pack OC but far, far more often he's sub-standard.

Remind me of Pease under WM. That makes me a sad Panda. :(
