Let's assume it's even a half way decent game and lives up to the hype for the most part.

Where does it stand with the GOTC's and the FSU-UF in the 90s. The ND-UM in the late 80s. Bama-Florida in the late 2000s. Other great ones you can think of.

However, consider the difference is neither originated in the regular season. Both games were national championships.

literally impossible to know until we see the actual game. If it's 45-3 it's not going to stand anywhere.

If Ohio State would hold their end of the bargain then it would be a great rematch. I was hoping for it and see if Meyer could get the best of Saban again.

I have a hard time calling it a true rematch when the personnel is significantly different from the first game.

I found the Bama Florida rematch far more drama filled

Tebows last run
Saban vs Meyer
Changing over of dynasties.

It was the ultimate powerhouse match up. Florida had issues unmasked and got exposed a bit, but that build up was all season long and the hype was amazing.

Does 1/9/12 qualify as a rematch? That was pretty great.

I'm sure it will be better than 21-0.
