Any game against a SEC team is Bob's Super Bowl.

The sun comes up every morning.
Seasons change to the next one every few months.
You can never count Georgia out of the Fulmer Cup race.
Auburn underachieves when they're projected to do well.
Nothing new.

Getting used by the Texas Longhorns? Texas doesn't have as many national titles and Heismans, although they have all the wealth and the population. Texas has underperformed for the most part.

Well, the south is known for its inferiority complex and fragile ego.

So is the sugar bowl Oklahoma's national championship or do you guys still try to play for the real thing?

It is. Bloomers played Auburn while they were supposedly the "second" best team in the SEC and elect to forget they also played the "second" best team in the SEC which they hang their hat on when they beat Bama in the sugar bowl.....while the SEC Champion that same year was playing for a national championship which was Auburn.
Silly Bloomers

LSU lost to Auburn this year, so how could LSU defeat the team that defeated your team?
Seriously? Pitt beat Clemson this year, so how did they lose six games? Are there really six teams out there better than Clemson?
We fired our HC and OC after that Auburn loss, and with the exception of one ridiculous comedy of errors on Nov. 19th, played much better after that. I have no doubt we'd have beaten Auburn if we'd played them last week.

Maybe the SEC should play more SEC teams to truly figure out who is the best.

OU will be unstoppable next year. Think they are a lock for the playoffs with everyone coming back.

OU defense isn't there yet, and not everyone is coming back on offense.

Maybe Oklahoma should play for national championships instead of sugar bowls to get any kind of respect?

Oklahoma gets plenty of respect. You win some and you lose some.
BCS/NY6 Bowls: OU is 5-6. Not great but not bad.
Big XII Title Games/games for the title clincher, OU is an impressive 10-1.
Sugar Bowl is not OU's national championship. It's a game that makes OU relevant still even when they are written off early due to bad losses.
Stoops does enough to keep the program afloat. He keeps winning and bringing in the hardware. What sucks though is by the time he figures out the right formula, it's too late such as being a NC contender. 2015 is an exception with the CFP appearance.
I'm happy with how things are. But like other consistently winning programs, we all strive to be at the level of Alabama.

Alabama.
You know, that team you still brag about beating in the sugar bowl a national championship and three playoff postseason appearances ago.
You gonna answer my question?
Are sugar bowls the new national championship for OU?

OU is probably the least respected of the blue bloods. Partially because of Texas influence over you and partially due to the recent identity of Stoop's results for "big games".
It's incredible actually because historically OU is better (winning, etc) than Texas, Michigan (spare me their win total inflation) and OSU.
It is sad a program so great now sees their ceiling as beating the second or third best team in the SEC in a sugar bowl as their height.
You're suppose to be better than that.

Beating Auburn is not the ceiling for the program. However, had OU lost to Auburn, the pundits would be touting Auburn and the mighty SEC.
This Sugar Bowl was more of a showcase of what Mayfield, Mixon, Perine, Westbrook are all about.
