His academic situation isn't nearly that bad. He's got work to do, but I'd say it's more likely than not that he qualifies. At the worst he might be a partial qualifier similar to Raekwon Davis and Andre Anthony this past season.

You are correct. Anthony got screwed over by transcript issues. Davis had failed to meet full qualification standards. Travonte Valentine was the same way. From what I've heard, Shelvin would have to frick up completely to not at least partially qualify.

No. Davis met the full requirements as evidenced by his playing this fall. Anthony and Valentine didn't make the grades. Davis did.

Actually, no. Anthony's grades were fine. He transferred from a school that got shut down before he graduated high school. And since the school was shut down, the NCAA wasn't able to verify the transcripts because no one works there anymore.
