Jesus. Every year I come to this board on national signing day, and every year I regret it.

I’m tired of every LSU radio show have these clowns on that don’t know shite

Would you prefer that they have posters from here on to talk about recruiting? Or would you like the hosts to talk about recruiting from their own knowledge and get names and positions wrong? Or they could just not talk about recruiting at all on the radio?

Shea and Billy might not know shite, but they know more than anyone else does when it comes to LSU recruiting. So it's them or nobody. Unless you want to quit your job and become a recruiting reporter who does the job so much better than the current guys....

$$$$$ NIL is killing college football

Yeah the days of Southern Miss and Tulsa winning national championships might be coming to an end...

College football has never been fair, and had always been dirty with only a handful of programs actually able to compete for titles. And it's gotten worse in the past decade, before NIL.

We're just mad because LSU is clearly a step behind now when we used to be one of the best programs in the sport. And we still might be, but I'm already tired of the complaining that the underpaid labor is now slightly less underpaid.

Or you can look at the most important stats, Ws and third down conversions.

Sounds like you think Tim Tebow should still be a starting QB in the NFL...

I wonder what were the chances of the NCAA investigating the Hicks deal if Segar hadn't started poking around. In real life I never want to criticize the whistleblower, but the NCAA is not real life. And then they threw a party for uncovering violations.

Dollar to a donut that Chase, Shelvin, Vincent, Marshall, were all tired of school and quit going to classes.
Hope I'm wrong though.

A big part of why they opted out was so they could get money from an agent now and go work out to get ready for the combine. So yes, they definitely were not going to class (Marshall might have finished out the semester).

Apparently there’s some legs to this.

Every year Corey does this to us.

If this is the price to pay to keep him happy and only a DB coach, I'm fine with it.

What law am I breaking by giving a kid $10k of my money as an LSU booster?

You're not. The potential broken law is that the kid has to pay income tax on that $10k. And if he pays income tax and the money is coming from an impermissible source (a booster, in this case), the NCAA can see that and penalize the player. There is no law against you giving $10k to a random LSU student.

So the athlete has two options:
Either he doesn't break the law and pays taxes but gets caught by the NCAA

Or he breaks the law by not paying taxes, but may get away with it. Problem is the IRS isn't quite as toothless as the NCAA. They are still understaffed and overworked, but they have subpoena power and will want to know how you afford the apartment you live in and the car you bought.

re: Gilbert to transfer

Got him the ball a lot??

He was still a freshmen. Without a real offseason to mesh with the QBs. And he had 3 QBs. And he's a tight end. He was the 2nd leading receiver for LSU before Marshall (a first round pick and experienced Junior) opted out. And he may have been the leading receiver by the end of the year if he had stayed - some of Boutte's 300+ yards probably would have gone to him against Ole Miss.

Despite what he looks like 18 year old Gilbert is not yet 21 year old Kyle Pitts. I honestly doubt that the production (or supposed lack thereof) had anything to do with Gilbert's opt out and potential transfer.

That governor tells you to stay in your house and put your mask on.

Why shouldn’t he feel entitled enough to hire/fire football coaches?

Do you get this mad about being told you have to wear a seatbelt and carry insurance too? Or are you just selectively stupid? Or is this a troll that I fell for?

What about the podcast

Yeah I couldn't really give a damn about Vandy's coaching moves. But I am legitimately disappointed that he will no longer be on either the Cover 3 or Barton and Bud podcasts.

The RPO has been around for like a decade now

I had on the Bluegrass Miracle over the summer when it came on TV and the announcers were talking about one of the teams running the RPO. And they weren't treating it like some new concept. I'm no football scholar, but it's probably been around for 20+ years.

frick this is so retarded

You're not wrong. But we've got shite else to do.

Isn't that part of his job description? Handle the media spin around the program?

Means nothing. Develop talent

Talent doesn't mean EVERYTHING. But it definitely doesn't mean nothing (while we converse on on a message board dedicated to recruiting)

There's a reason Bama, Clemson and Ohio State make the playoffs 80% of the time. And it's not because they have a better workout regimen. It's because they start with the best players.

So now we're cool with 3rd in the west?

Permanently? Of course not. But the question was whether or not O gets fired next year for being 3rd in the west. Not after finishing 3rd for the 4th year in a row after the 2024 season

And I think that if LSU goes 10-3 next year with all the promising freshmen this year becoming sophomores there will be a lot of excitement going into a year with a junior Max Johnson, Boutte, Roy, etc. And I think it's asinine to think O would be fired in that scenario.

But that's just me.

If LSU isn't improved at least to a runner-up finish in the SEC West, I think Orgeron will be fired.

Do you actually think O would get fired for going 11-2/10-3 and being behind bama and aTm next year? Or is that part just a troll?

Hey, get your facts out of here. That's not what we're here for.
Yeah, I'd be worried about that as well. O has never struck me as a very diligent or hard working recruiter.

DJ Durkin. He even has HC experience. LSU would be crazy not to take him.

Crazy.

I see what you did there.
