Says Mizzou and Bama are not in his Top 3. I would like to say I'm sad about this but outside of Becker and Simms these ESL guys come across as soft

Strong will be solid if he stays. Another walked on and got time on ST. So which guys from ESL are soft?

We had 8 on the team and 2 have made some impact

Yeah I was trying to remember who

Now the narrative has changed from not playing ESL players to MU being full WR per the Rivals link below the Haley article on RockM:

I wish the young man luck but Odom should have Ford spend his time on other players, preferably defensive and offensive linemen.

Thomas is supposed to be OV in January

It sure sounds like he is looking for any reason to go elsewhere. There are plenty of 5'10" guys that can run and catch. MU needs guys that can play multiple techniques on the interior DLine. I'd spend the resources and time working on those guys.

amhorrell asks: You posted monday night its your understanding Thomas will visit here in January along with Estes.. Is this new news, an assumption bc it is close to his home and free and has a couple buddies around, or is this concrete info from a source?
GD: I am told Missouri expects Thomas and Estes to take official visits in January. Now, obviously, plans can change, but as of today, that is something that is planned for one of the last two visit weekends.

I'll say we already have the 5'10 speed guy in JJ for the next 3 years. I agree that we don't NEED him. But Jeff Thomas is FAR from a dime/dozen type of player. To suggest there's plenty of players with his skill sets is foolish.
It would be nice to have Thomas, but similar to DGB, it would be a luxury addition, not something that really changes things drastically.
I'm sure they're working on DLmen just as much and more than they are on Thomas. I'm sure they're working hard for 18 DL crop in StL.
If I had to bet, I'd bet you're a big heavy who hits up Como's drive-thru's with regularity.

We dont have a single player with the hands or route running Thomas has.

You can never have too many 4* skill position players. Need all the playmakers we can get.

Maybe direct that at the person I was replying to.

To me, Johnathan Johnson is every bit as good as Jeff Thomas but there is no reason we cant have two of these guys.
Here's the thing though, Thomas is JUCO bound so it wouldnt be any type of issue for a couple years anyway.

ESL's passing game is based on running double smash, China, and Wolf concepts with the slot and edge wr and Estes being able to extend allowing Thomas to run past his defender. He has elite speed but he isn't going to get a free release every down in college.
You also need to consider the competition he faced. The 2017 and 2018 Illinois recruiting classes have just 5 rated secondary players. None are safeties and none are rated higher than a 3*. Thomas faced one of them all season.

You don't know enough about anything to call anyone foolish.

Was this supposed to be an insult? Try harder you simple minded arse grabber.

To claim Jeff Thomas is a dime/dozen 5'10 guy is foolish. No other way to put it. There's smoothness and explosion and coordination in his movements that is far from ordinary. He's a special talent.
And to think continuing to recruit Thomas takes away from resources to recruit linemen is absurd.

The best DB he faced all season was Babb from CBC. He will be a star WR in college, but would also be really good as a DB.

When you have a clue about anything it will be a first.
Carry on.
Carry on.

You could have just said:
Damn, you're right. What was I thinking? Thomas isn't an ordinary 5'10 pass catcher and it really was silly of me to think continuing to recruit him is taking resources away from recruiting linemen.
But I'll take what you said as code for that. I realize it's rare for people to admit their mistakes online.
