Looks like the DAWGS have a good chance here.

Say what you will but I would've waited until after the announcement to make a thread

BAMA has recruited him hard, but they won't be disappointed should he sign elsewhere. The BAMA staff has locked in the best OL class of 2017 without a doubt.

Nothing to be gained from making this thread before the fact...I still think he signs with UM

Depends on your definition of a good chance. Most signs still point to Michigan.

Haven't heard about him much. How does he compare to Alex Leatherwood or that kid from Tennessee?

I think Michigan is the pick. Dawgs had some momentum a few days ago, but it looks like the 247 UGA mods are sticking with the Wolverines.
I also thought Monty Rice was a lock, so what do I know...

Not sure how much UGA fans know about what the nutjob Harbaugh is doing but he is getting a commit every day this week basically.
Got Black two days ago, DPJ yesterday, likely Wilson today, the #1 C ruiz at some point and I think a LB as well this week. The timing just works out too perfectly for them all not to pick Michigan and he knows it. Seems he is doing the "make every recruit seem like a win over someone" like there was a lot of scuttlebutt from FSU and OSU fans where sources leaked they were going to get DPJ, while everyone knew, like with your Mods on Wilson, he was probably going to Michigan

Leatherwood is the most agressive of the three with Top Competition. Check out the Rivals 5star challenge on YouTube he rag dolled the top DLINE in the nation.

oh we know all about it, which is one reason we're extremely skeptical. The timing just works out too perfect for IW to move his commit date from Christmas up to today, which just happens to be in a string of like 4 announcements in 5 days for Michigan recruits.
I think the reason we're holding out a few small glimmers of hope:
-There is an immediate need for PT here. Idk about UM's line but if he came here he would almost assuredly be a starting tackle for us game 1.
-Pittman is one of the best in the business
-We got his last visit and by all accounts he loved the hell out of it and bonded wiht our guys
-The ace in the hole, which nobody can really seem to confirm or deny, is that apparnetly we will hire one of his HS coaches onto our support staff. 2 of his HS coaches flew down here for the Auburn game without IW, which is a bit odd. He also supposedly has some kin that live near Athens.
Again, this is all just holding out a slight bit of hope. I as well would expect him to announce to UM.

Didn't Wilson measure in at 6'8" 373 pounds on his OV to Georgia?

Don't rememeber the height but yes 373, which seems almost unbelievable considering he somehow carries it well. When you think 373 pounds you think of some fattank lardass that can't get out of bed and washes with a rag on a stick, but that guy is a premier LT.
I'm curious what college coaches will want his playing weight to be.

From our SEC Country writer:

It’s decision day for 5-star OL Isaiah Wilson
Isaiah Wilson, ESPN’s No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2017, will make his college commitment known in a few hours, and Alabama is one of the teams in the mix for the elite offensive tackle.
Wilson, a 5-star prospect from Poly Prep Country Day School (Brooklyn, N.Y.), will either commit to Alabama, Georgia or Michigan. With just a few hours to go until his decision, I am not expecting the Crimson Tide to be his choice.
As detailed on Thursday, there’s just no room to add a sixth offensive lineman in this year’s recruiting class. Readers may bring up the fact that Alabama tried to get 5-star offensive tackle Trey Smith on board just a few weeks ago, but his recruitment was a different situation. Some Alabama staff members believed Smith was able to play pretty much anywhere on the offensive line — that’s not the assessment for Wilson.
There was a point where Alabama looked like the favorite to land Wilson. He visited Tuscaloosa this summer, and the vibes of him eventually committing to the Tide were strong. Michigan then seized the momentum of his recruitment for several months before Georgia seemingly took a chunk of that lead this past weekend when he took an official visit to Athens.
Some may ask why Alabama wouldn’t make room for a 5-star prospect like Wilson, especially when the Tide have a 3-star prospect committed on the offensive line in Hunter Brannon, but the staff feels confident in his abilities, regardless of rankings. The Tide also have three elite offensive tackles committed in this class in 5-star prospect Alex Leatherwood, the nation’s No. 1 junior college offensive lineman Elliot Baker and top 10 tackle Jedrick Wills.
With Alabama needing at least two more defensive linemen, one or two more wide receivers, one JACK linebacker and possibly one defensive back (though not a certainty), the numbers just don’t compute for Wilson being in this class.
Can something crazy happen in the next few hours where Alabama somehow finds a way to squeeze him in the class? Absolutely. This is recruiting, where things change constantly, but I am fairly confident that if something crazy did happen, I don’t think it would benefit the Tide.
Make sure you guys are following along with Jeff Sentell on Twitter in a few hours. He will be on scene for us, and he’ll have a live stream of his ceremony when it gets going around 11:30 a.m. ET.
Prediction on where Wilson will commit to:
Michigan — 60 percent confidence level
Georgia — 40 percent confidence level
