I don't recall anyone calling the '04 OU team the best ever. I heard a lot of ESPN and other media people saying that about the 2003 OU team that got exposed by Kansas State. And didn't Texas barely beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl? I recall them needing a game-winning FG drive as time expired.
2007 and 2010, if anything, were seasons that really needed playoffs. There's no way LSU and Auburn were the best.

OU brought on AP in 04 and was dominating every one
That Texas team after the OU loss till the Rose Bowl game versus USC won over 20 games straight
It was a man against boys
The best team that I have seen had the most unstoppable player. Only team that I could see being better was Cam's 2010 Auburn Tigers
2010 Auburn vs 2005 Texas would have been amazing
