You do know if he had not given him that raise, Romar would have left. Then you'd be complaining today about how he ran away their successful Sweet 16 coach to the NBA because he called his bluff.
College sports is a business. Being mad at lucrative contracts and high buyouts is pretty damn stupid. They have to happen if you want to attract the best talent.

No they don't. Most experienced talent does not mean best. We're probably a top 10 job in the country. If an up and coming coach knows that must produce on the front end to get paid on he back end, he'll take the offer we make him. And if he leaves, frick him well find someone with more integrity.

This seems to be implying that there are no bad contracts in college sports, if you're saying it's dumb to criticize a contract.
