Let's set a baseline. You don't know squat.

My hypothesis: Kiffin took the UT job knowing that due to scandals brewing at USC, Pete Carroll was about to bolt, which he did forthwith.

His fervent hope was to stay at UT for a year, do us up the worm hole and duck out back to USC.

And that is what happened.

The person to whom we can trace back all of this disaster is Mike Hamilton, who got paid a lot of money to understand the dynamics of this type of situation. But Kiffin was the bright shiny thing he saw to fix his Fulmer problem and he dove for it.
