Any plausible chance we could get Lane back on the Hill?

How many of y'all legitimately want him back?

I understand winning is everything, but he ditched the Vols after one season. He's also trolled Tennessee and others on social media.

He's definitely better than Butch. Can't argue that.

I come in peace of course. Just want some honest, non-rant discussion on it.

I don't want him back, we were on a crash course with the NCAA under him

Plus Idk how good of a HC he even is, he didn't have success at USC of all places and you can ask Bama fans about their frustration with his playcalling

So much talent there it's just hard to frick it up

I would saw my left nut off using a rusty butter knife if it meant Kiffin came back to Tennessee

Anyone who was involved in the program in any way when he was here absolutely loved him. I would do anything for big Lane to come home.

Here's the thing though, he's got to express remorse to the fans. And any deal he signs must include a sizeable buyout and NO Dream Job clause.

Seems like I read that the USC locker room was full of fights all the time; there was much dissension on the team?

I would say no, Hell no.

Lol you were backing Lyle even after the SCe loss and you've compared him to Johnny Majors numerous times.

The reaction to hiring Kiffin back would be like a Red when his daughter marries a black dude. He would be mad and reject it at first, but would acquiesce for the good of the family in the end.

I said I would reevaluate if he lost to either Mizzou or Vandy.

V&S posted a while back that indicated that he saw some tendencies like Majors' in Jones. You are not articulate enough to say if you think a comparison with Majors is good or bad.

1985 Tennessee 9–1–2 ----5–1
1986 Tennessee 7–5 ----3–3
1987 Tennessee 10–2–1 ----4–1–1
1988 Tennessee 5–6 ----3–4
1989 Tennessee 11–1 ----6–1
1990 Tennessee 9–2–2 ----5–1–1
1991 Tennessee 9–3 -----5–2

Majors was the master of being up and down with no consistency. I couldn't wait for him to be shown the door.

Lane Kiffin disputes report of USC players fighting in the locker room

January 16, 2013

At least 10 to 15 USC players were involved in a locker room altercation following the Trojans' loss to Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl, sources say. However, coach Lane Kiffin said the story is being blown out of proportion.

A meltdown by USC following a butt whipping handed to the Trojans by Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl led to fighting in the locker room involving 10 to 15 players, multiple sources told the Los Angeles Daily News.

The paper reports that the incident was sparked by a group of freshmen players questioning the leadership and effort of the team’s seniors. An argument mushroomed into fisticuffs."

ESPN.com's Gene Wojciechowski reported in January that a few weeks after the Sun Bowl, a USC player—who wished to remain anonymous—told him that “Kiffin had ‘lost’ the USC locker room." He went on to describe the defeat to Georgia Tech as "getting boat-raced by a high school football team."

Even though USC AD Pat Haden has been outspoken in his support of Kiffin, it’s not Haden’s confidence he’ll need on the 13 game days of the 2013 season.

No, when the whistle blows, it will be the full support of the 100-plus members of USC’s roster that will decide whether Kiffin stays or goes.

To capture the confidence of his team, Kiffin must make the shift from being a brilliant strategist to a master motivator.

In his own words, according to ESPN.com, Kiffin said that he had invested so much time into “X’s and O’s and what it takes to win, that I hadn’t grown enough to understand the other stuff that matters.”

Kiffin’s game plans—which may look unstoppable on paper—will come alive and prove fruitful only if he can connect with, motivate and inspire the talented athletes who grace his roster.

This is the “other stuff” that desperately needs his attention."

He took a top 5 job in the nation at a place he was at longer. USC was also his first on the field coaching job and his ex-wife wanted to go back. I understand

Let's set a baseline. You don't know squat.

My hypothesis: Kiffin took the UT job knowing that due to scandals brewing at USC, Pete Carroll was about to bolt, which he did forthwith.

His fervent hope was to stay at UT for a year, do us up the worm hole and duck out back to USC.

And that is what happened.

The person to whom we can trace back all of this disaster is Mike Hamilton, who got paid a lot of money to understand the dynamics of this type of situation. But Kiffin was the bright shiny thing he saw to fix his Fulmer problem and he dove for it. But that bright shiny thing brought a problem that has now been jammed down our craw for way too many years.

Kiffin will probably get hired somewhere very soon. The UT job won't be open this year so hopefully, we will dodge this malignant bullet.

And since you think Kiffin's behavior is acceptable, don't ever expect anyone to loan you one thin dime.

In your heart you know Lane and Tennessee were made for each other. Don't fight this feeling, Walt.

Hey Walter let me know when this hedgehog looking bulldyke wins a Natty and 3 SEC titles.

I have no idea what your word salad means but Lane Kiffin is a weasel and he will never ever not be a weasel.

I guess you mean a Natty as a player? Cause majors damn sure didn't win one as a coach
