The Sugar Bowl is hoping and praying it's LSU just for ticket sales. This is very unlikely to happen.

If the sugar picks LSU, this state will explode as if the tigers were in the playoffs.

Not true. The merchants of New Orleans prefer for visiting teams to come in and spend money from out of state. Fill up hotels and restaurants and bars. They aren't the least bit worried about ticket sales. Most SEC schools travel well.
