Yep. This is Auburn, not the Mississippi schools. If you don't expect championships, maybe you should cheer for one of those schools. They're happy with 8 win seasons and going to irrelevant bowl games.

So you are delusional?

It's either dumpster fire or championship with them. No in between. No use tryIng to explain the in between to them. They don't listen

It all makes sense. We had a dumpster fire through week 3. Played in a so called Buyout bowl. And then we resurrected our season enough to controlour destiny late in the season before we lost to a team we could've curb stomped by twenty if we were healthy. The expectations changed and false hopes faded in a hurry.

Nope. I just expect more out of my team. I'm not sure why any Auburn fan wouldn't. I mean if you're fine with mediocrity, then I'm sure you're quite happy with the way the season has went.

Saban is in contention for the SEC every year. Nose picker may get there some day. But right now, he's a 7-8 win coach.

So when Saban is in contention it counts. If Auburn is, it doesn't.

I thought you expected championships? I can't even keep up with what you want, it changes so much

So when does contention count and when doesn't it count? This is getting confusing.

I agree, that 53 year drought was anomalous

NCs every year

Fire every coach that doesn't make that happen

How many other HCs in the SEC beside Saban can say that?

We were legitimately in contention going into our 7th conference game. In fact, we were in control of our own destiny, unlike only two other teams (out of 14) at the time.

Yeah, it sucks that we blew it against UGa, and I hold Gustav largely responsible for not having an adequate replacement for an injured starting QB, as well as allowing him to play the entire 2nd half when it was clear he couldn't execute the offense.

But I also hold Gustav largely responsible for hiring the right guys to coach the defense after multiple departures from last year's staff, and I hold him largely responsible for our midseason offensive success, prior to a devastating rash of injuries to our backfield.

Said over on the 'how happy are you with your HC' thread on tRant - even with a loss this week, we will be 8-4 and headed to a decent mid-tier bowl, despite a brutal schedule and depleted offensive depth. A bowl win and we're almost certainly in the 15-20 range in the polls and poised for a legit run at a title in '17. Which is a hell of a lot better than I thought we'd be this time last year.

Did I say anything about being in contention for NCs every year? But as an Auburn fan, you should expect your coach to win the SEC. If not, we should've just kept Tubs. Hey, he won 8 games plenty of times. Never mind he only managed 1 SECC in 10 freaking years.

Jangalang that is 100% correct

No it's not

Every year people say the SEC is weak and almost every year since 2006 the conference has the highest bowl W:L rate and highest OOC W:L rate. So what if we play an extra creampuff compared to the B1G, we still spank that arse come bowl season.
