This is Saban's 4th best team, IMO. 2009, 2011 and 2012 were all better. Though, an argument can be made against 2009.

Yea go ahead and run the triple option on this Bama D it will work out real well.
Oklahoma was 9th in the country in rush defense in 95, they lost 37-0. WSU was 24th in rush D, they lost by 2 touchdowns. UF was 25th in rush D, they gave up 62. Keep in mind these rush D stats are deflated by having to play nebraska.
Let's also remember that in 2011, one of bama's best teams of all time, they played lowly Georgia Southern (before they moved up to 1A) and gave up 302 yards and 21 points.
I think the TO is lame in this day and age and is only run by inferior programs that have to use it, but it simply didn't get any better than when nebraska had it rolling in the mid-90s. To say bama would rape them only based on the offense they run is just ignorant.

Most think our 2015 NC team wasn't as good as those teams but they played 9 ranked teams last year. 9 friggin ranked teams!!! That's the hardest schedule of any NC team in modern CFB history.
This year our schedule was actually pretty tame. We got good breaks after every tough game. It's the easiest schedule we've had in the Saban tenure, imho. How tough a schedule is doesn't necessarily dictate how you good you are but it's a compelling argument.

No 92 Bama? interesting. That defense is one of the best I have ever seen. They would give 2016 Bama all they could handle, game might end 0-0.

that defense was an all timer but they didn't get much help from the QB spot. Granted times have changed in a BIG way over the last 25 years but I wouldn't call them one of the few best teams EVER just based on their defense...that offense would get swallowed up by this year's bama D, but this year's bama O would probably have some success based on Hurts' abilities if nothing else, IMO.

Go look at Nebraska 95's D-Line and tell me how they'd match up with Bama's front 7. Those boys were pretty light up front

Sec is down this year.
Why is that? I know one program doesn't seem to have a problem putting a consistently strong team on the field. Why should that program take a hit b/c there are others who are struggling to be consistent?

that's why you can't really do these kinda things. This year's missouri team would beat the best national champion of the 1920s by 50 playing with the 3rd string.

True. T
For their time they were the goats, but they couldn't physically match up with most teams today let alone Alabama. Training and conditioning alone today dwarfs anything back in 95

It would be fascinating to watch the 1995 Nebraska team, adjusted for current day weight and all that, against the 2015/2016 Alabama run defense.
It would just be amazing to watch. I have no idea what would happen.

have you seen Bama 2016 dline? you aren't running on them.
2011 Bama gave up all those yards after our game and with less than a week to prepare. Bama would boat race the huskers

no team in history would "boatrace" that 95 team, sorry.

When do Dlines face each other?

Typo, it got autocorrected. With comprehension you'd obviously know that I meant OLine. Interestingly enough though their D-Line couldn't match up with LSU's OLine let alone Bama's.

are you serious 2011 LSU, 2011 BAMA, and 2016 Bama would buttrape that team. Yea go ahead and run the triple option on this Bama D it will work out real well.
I don't agree with pretty much anything you have ever said on here, but you are dead on with this.
That '95 Nebraska team would get fricking obliterated by this year's Alabama team and the 2011 versions of Alabama and LSU.
Tommy Frazier would be picking his nuts up off his feet after every play.

That 95 florida team was really damn good and that team just shite on UF so bad it wasn't even funny.

It was really good but it was weak at the LOS and the defense was above average and not physical at the point of attack.
That game made Spurrier commit to become more physical and that defense mattered. Enter Bob Stoops.
