And it hasn't been for the last 3 or 4 seasons. The consistency hasn't been there at all. What was the real reason WM kept him around?

Lots of different reasons ... made some of us shake our heads.

Now it would appear that he is with us for at least one more season unfortunately. Only hope is that App State comes calling if their HC is taken.

They fricking suck and it was miserable watching them yesterday

Elliott's wife and kids have now taken to social media in a show of support ... it's really kinda sad.

How is he still hanging onto a job here? He is like a tick you just can't reach in the middle of your back, and no one else will get it for you. Do the rest of the staff not see they are an issue, if they don't they aren't as good of film guys as we thought. WM in his intro presser he demands the coaches to produce yet Elliot is exempt?

Just heard GA State fired their coach. AD is an App State alum with ties to Coach Elliott. Wonder if they would have any interest?

It would mean a major pay cut for him. Like by half almost.

Ouch. I wasn't sure how much smaller schools paid their head coaches.

Well, I was wrong. When Georgia State made the commitment to move up to FBS they doubled the coach's salary from $200k to $400k ... then $450 in 2014. They bumped him (Trent Miles) to $500k in 2015 and apparently gave Miles a vote of confidence contract extension through 2017 at that time, minus an extension on the buyout.

So Elliott would probably at least make the same money he is making now.

Well I will say that the same salary and living in ATL versus Cola would definitely appeal to me.

However, the profile of GSU vs USC is weak. USC is in the best conference in football and GSU is quite far from that. Even if he were offered the job I don't think he'd take it.

I think we are going to see another painful year of Elliott next season as well.
