2000; Uncle Larry's last season.

So, that's where we are.

Last one out, flip the lights off.

It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Look on the bright side. There's always the thrill and anticipation of what the uniforms will look like.

Plus...Barry is an alum. You don't get much better than that.

The program is ahead of where it was when Pinkel took over...; facilities are much better and so is the talent on the squad.

Need better technique coaching; especially tackling.

I don't see how it gets much worse.

This year is a disaster obviously. Odom gets it going, or he doesn't but this is rock bottom.

Encouraging that after all this negativity it would be very easy for the team to quit, but they haven't. If your looking for a positive, there it is.

Yesterday was better effort-wise. I'd argue they quit during the LSU game and didn't really come back until this week.

They went back to their attack defense and do very little gap control defense. If I was Cross I would be pissed at BO for changing the defense back to where it shouldn't have been changed from in the first place.

Yeah bc Cross' D scheme was working like a dream

I think he was pointing out across Cross is going to likely be the scapegoat for Odom's decision to change defenses.

I didn't read it that way but OK we'll go with your view. The new "scheme" is both of theirs so Cross can't be the scapegoat & I really don't see BO making anyone a scapegoat; it doesn't seem like his style.

Odom said in an interview that he agonized over his decision to change the front 4 scheme. So it was his call to make the change. The question is did Shipp and Cross do a good job of teaching Odom's vision? Cross said, (after the change back to the 2015 scheme), maybe his approach was to elaborate, and should have been simpler, so he is taking some ownership.

I'm not even that mad about the SC game. They played much better than I thought they would.

Side note: J'mon needs to keep his mouth shut. He talks like Dez Bryant and plays like Brian Hartline

I'm not saying that Odom made Cross a scapegoat on purpose, but he brought him here from TCU where he was co-defensive coordinator and linebacker's coach. There he coached 3 linebackers that hadn't played before his last year there and helped make 2 of them all-B12. Mizzou's d-line didn't buy in because it took away from there sack totals. Odom should not have changed the defensive scheme in the first place and I wonder did he do it so that credit would go to him so that coach K wouldn't be getting the credit. In other words he wanted his stamp on the defense.

Maybe Coaches Odom and Cross both now know they made mistakes and there are no personal problems between them. If Cross stays we should see a new and improved version of him next year. You would think they would have seen what happened when the offensive line was tinkered with and not have made changes to the DL. Plus the legacy of D-Line Zou is at risk of being lost. That should have been celebrated and embraced instead of scrapped. Put up a wall display of all those guys that went to the league like Alabama does.

They both look tired. I'm thinking about the old saying that a man ages 20 years on his wedding day. It could be true for Head Coaches and Defensive Coordinators on their hiring day.
