Top-graded edge defenders in CFB
Derek Barnett, TENN, 91.1
Myles Garrett, A&M, 90.9
Trey Hendrickson, FAU, 90.8
Jordan Willis, KST, 90.1
PFF College Football
His 29.0 sacks are first among all active FBS players. He leads the SEC in sacks. The vast majority of his production has come in SEC play. Myles Garrett enjoys his production against the weak schools. Just the facts.

Barnett is a great player. Not sure why it is so important to collect opinions on who is the best. Does it really matter?
Let's just all agree that Leonard Fournette is second best RB in SEC and leave it at that.

I thought this was common knowledge by now

Why do these little petty things matter? Both are great players in their positions.
Confirming the "out due to injury" comparison between the 2 would be interesting.

I really don't give a frick anymore. Cling on what whatever you want this season, because it's gonna be a long offseason in Tennessee

I think this is the Aggy way of admitting Barnett > Garrett imo

Now that PFF has him 1st there's no argument from Aggies

This season, Barnett has been more productive than an injured Myles Garrett.
Derek Barnett (8 games):
36 tackles, 14.5 TFL, 9.0 sacks, 2 PBU, 7 QBH, 2 FF, 1 INT
Myles Garrett (6 games):
21 tackles, 9.5 TFL, 4.0 sacks, 7 QBH, 1 FF, 1 FR
Now let's add another player to the mix:
Daeshon Hall (8 games):
30 tackles, 9.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 11 QBH, 1 PBU, 1 FF, 2 FR
Let's go a step further over the course of their careers.
Derek Barnett (34 games)
178 tackles, 47.5 TFL, 28.0 sacks, 1 INT, 3 PD, 3 FF, 2 FR
Myles Garrett (30 games)
129 tackles, 41.5 TFL, 26.5 sacks, 1 INT, 4 PD, 6 FF, 1 FR
Daeshon Hall (37 games)
138 tackles, 32.0 TFL, 14.0 sacks, 1 INT, 3 PD, 3 FF, 2 FR

Post their stats vs. ranked teams and in conference stats while you're at it

I wonder who NFL scouts think is better. I wonder who gets drafted first.

For Garrett, this means the Tennessee game no longer qualifies...

You can do at the time of the matchup if that tickles your fancy, because Barnett doesn't get the UGA game now either

Barnett is a beast. Period. With that said Jon Allen is the best overall dlineman in the country imo. Barnett is a quarterback killer though. Future all pro.

Garrett vs SEC opponents (career): 12 sacks 22.5 TFL (19 games)
vs Ranked opponents (career): 6 sacks 13.5 TFL (9 games)
Barnett vs SEC opponents (career): 26 sacks 38.5 TFL (21 games)
vs ranked opponents (career): 10 sacks 18.5 TFL (10 games)
So basically, Garrett needs 14 sacks and 16 TFL in his next two SEC games to match Barnett's production in conference play
