Can Shea step up as a freshman and will the team respect him
Jordan Wilkins is a senior but he was never a starter and missed a year
Can breeland get his mojo back
Will Webster be fully recovered and a vocal leader
Can Gates put it all together and have an amazing season
Does Marquis have a money making senior year

Lot of questions next year. Decent chance the Freezer thaws out and spoils

After Connor this season I refuse to get optimistic about Webster

I would not count on him ever playing another meaningful snap again.

Not sure why anyone ever thought Conner was going to be a vocal leader.

Don't discount Webster. ACL recoveries are up to the patient by and large.

The Connor comment was Re: recovering from knee injury not vocal leadership.

I've seen people in other threads thinking that Conner is a vocal leader. No, no he isn't.

Shea is going to have to assume the leadership role of the team since he is the QB. We don't really have anyone good returning on defense, so we are kind of SOL there.

I think all those guys in the secondary that return will be considerably better. I really do. But very concerned about our linebackers. Many of us, myself included, have poor mouthed the defensive line when they were supposed to be really good. I think a little bit of the backer play has been caused by the below average play of the D line. Those units work in tandem and when the offensive line can stuff your D line man to man and you never have to doulble team anybody it makes it that much more difficult for linebackers to run free and make plays. It's been a perfect storm.

I saw a pic of Deterrian on one of the OM Facebook groups today. I wish he'd comeback and work as an assistant to some capacity. He can relate with the kids, get them fired up, and hopefully help straighten out the locker room. He was, and always will be one of my favorite Rebels. He truly loves our school and this team, something a lot of our kids don't, as evidenced by tweets from Stringfellow and similar bs we've heard. He held on through the good and the bad the past few years.

As far as on the field leaders next year, I can't think of a good option and someone just needs to step up. Hopefully Shea can and will become a leader for his team once he's crowned starter. Marquis could be that guy for the defense if he hangs around. I don't have my hopes up since he obviously hasn't taken the role this year, but he was jawing with the guys on the sidelines during the LSU game. I don't know much about him personally to say how he feels about the team, but I have some hope. I'm sure he garners their respect, he's an animal and even looks like a grown arse man.

Basically wishing he hadn't fricked up at Washington.

Well, given the current circumstances with both Washington and us I can't fault him too much for feeling that way. Maybe just shouldn't put it out there for MILLIONS to read.

It would not surprise me at all if Benito Jones is the leader of the defense next year. That kid plays hard every snap he is in there and I think he is our new Peria Jerry. I think him and Webster will be the defensive leaders. While Webster's injury was really bad, I think he'll come back and be a great player. While Connor struggled badly at the beginning of the season due to the injury, I think he has played much better lately and was our best defensive player against Auburn.

On offense I think it will be Shea and Javon Patterson. Our offensive line should be very good next year and I think it will start on that left side with Little and Patterson.

I really think there is an issue with either scheme or coaching there....we have talent without a doubt but dear Lord we can't seem to get to a point where we can consistently run the ball and there isn't any excuse for it. In regards to Little, he ain't happy right now either.

Second time I've heard this now. Who's this coming from and what's wrong? Just second guess coming to Ole Miss?

I don't think I'd be too happy either, it seems like all Luke knows how to do is recruit. He can't coach these guys worth a damn and maybe Little has realized that. But hopefully it's all just rumors and he's as happy as can be
