The nation is loaded with top cornerbacks, but Penton has allowed only 41.5 percent of passes to be completed into his coverage and opposing quarterbacks have a passer rating of 38.9 when targeting him. Penton has five passes defensed and three interceptions in the year.

Not having to look into the back field matters.

We get it.

Congrats to AMP on a nice season. He's probably going to get himself drafted.

The secondary is 14th in INTs, 4th in Passes Defended, 28th in completion% and 16th in QB rating allowed nationally.

Those are great numbers for the install season.....obviously.

I'd argue the new defense artificially inflates the defensive backfield's stats. You know, like the old one artificially inflated the line's stats.

I like Penton and think he's a good DB but I'll bet there's 1 play he'd like a 'do over'.

So what's your argument? Corners should also have to defend the run while covering the receiver. And do the team's laundry. And make breakfast.

Make your case. Don't just say you have one.

Hey Bass,

I just got my annual donation call (last Friday of the month). I assured her that my company will donate, but I would like the numbers for apps vs enrollments for AA students. I could hear in here voice she got deflated, so as far as donors go the protest issue isn't dead. I assured her it has no bearing on my donation as it is figured out by my accountant for tax purposes. I told her it was just curiosity, which I think made her feel better. Let you know as soon as I get it.

If you want to argue with Supreme Tiger on this, be my guest. I never made a statement that suggests this.

If the HC injecting himself into the room gets the front 4, the DE's in particular, to play their assignments, MU will beat Kentucky. Will you know what you are looking at when it happens? Or will you write it off as Kentucky sucks?

Lol the good old "appeal to authority" argument.

So you think it is a fallacy that Odom can help coach the system he wanted to install last season?

Interesting.

Exactly. This scheme is built from the perspective of the DB's. Basically a pass-first defense with DE's as the force players, which is why we are so weak against the run right now.

All defensive schemes are built from the front out! I've never seen a good defense that's built from the sideline in.
