What? If not for a lucky hail Mary that was defended horribly and if we had been ready for Vanderbilt...what would that make our record?
You're just being contrary, now. I could say the grass is green and you would argue that.

That means good things are coming, but this year was never going to be a great one,

I don't think anybody ever said this was going to be a great year. I picked us to come in 3rd in the East and finish with a 9-3 record. Honestly. Isn't that reasonable? I can pull up the preseason predictions from our fan base and the vast majority of the posters on here agreed that 8-4 or 9-3 is a doable thing.
Was everybody wrong about the talent we had on the team? Playing in the east, with the talent we have on the team a 9-3 record is reasonable.

that being said there isn't much of an excuse to barely beating Nicholls and losing to Vandy.

Those were bad games. Richt had his share, too. But, look....I have brought up Richt one time in a thread. Once. he is gone and Kirby Smart is the coach. I've said it before and i will say it again. I think he was the right hire, and I think he will do well. He is much more raw as a HC than I thought he would be, though.

You can play the "if" game and have us losing a couple of other games too, just saying. That's why its could be and not should be.

Not really sure how fan predictions - especially ones based on a totally unknown product - can be used as any sort of measuring stick for the team.
