The 8 teams that have made the playoff over the last two years have all been conference champs. This year they will pick 4 conference champs. Aggy is out unless Bama loses to Auburn and LSU. Sugar Bowl bound.

This. Until two P5 conferences actually look like dog shite the committee is always going to have 4 conference champs in the playoff. They've made that explicitly clear.

Extremely small sample size in the grand scheme of things, tbh.
I'm not saying we'll get in (or even that we should), but it's not an open and shut case that we'll get left out for not winning the conference.

I feel like they would pick a one loss non-conference champ (if the one loss was to the #1 team) over any two loss conference champ.
We need Bama to win out, Washington State to beat Washington, Ohio St needs to lose to Michigan, Baylor needs to lose once, WVU needs to lose one, Michigan's got to win out and Louisville needs to lose to Houston.
