Everywhere in Louisiana is the same. You feel really dirty just after you cross the state line. Your hair gets greasy. Your body odor starts to rise up. You just need a bath immediately like everyone else that lives there. Your armpits sweat more. You get hair in odd places. Teeth get yellow. It's just a very nasty place until you're lucky enough to cross back over.

That's called higher humidity.
I spent a month in Costa Rica in a town smack dab in a rainforest. Southern LA's humid is identical to that of the Costa Rican rainforest.
I mean I've never seen this description of the LA population, but I'd rather have yellow teeth than missing teeth and high probability of diabetes

Mississippi is the worst state at literally everything.
