Im not picking on anyone at all. The guy was using the argument that Miss State develops linebackers and thats why he won't be coming to LSU. If you were going to choose out of those 2 schools based solely on player development at the LB position, you wouldnt choose State, period.

take a look at recruiting rankings of each player. Without looking, I would guess that all of the players from LSU were highly ranked recruits while all of the State guys were 2 and 3 star guys
You really couldn't be more wrong

Wrong again. You are the one who brought up LB development, and then challenged them to name LBs they put in the league, which they did. All he said was that the dude was going to State.
Historically State does a pretty good job of keeping their Starkville targets in Starkville (AJ Brown notwithstanding)
eta: When you have Ms State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU posters all calling you an idiot in the same thread, they might be on to something

Did you just insinuate that Les Miles couldn't develop players at LSU? Are you insane? LSU has more players in the NFL than anyone and probably averaged about the 8th or so best recruiting class each year under Les. A ton of 3* guys became high draft picks and are currently in the NFL from LSU under Les. You're clueless bro. Refrain from speaking again in this thread. Willie Gay is gonna be a boss under Aranda in the purple and gold
You obviously don't understand what developing players means. You wrote that LSU averaged the #8 recruiting class which means they signed a lot of highly ranked players. Players that would be in the NFL regardless of where they went to college. There is no debating that LSU puts a lot of players in the NFL because they do but a majority of those players are already ultra talented. And you say that I'm clueless.

That is the most idiotic thing I've read today. LSU has always had an elite staff of position coaches. To act as though those guys were NFL bound and didn't get developed while playing at LSU, or any SEC school that pays coaches hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars, is telling as to your general level of intelligence.
Do you think they just don't even practice or work with strength coaches? Have you ever been around a college football program at all besides being a fanboy? I have, and you're clearly the clueless one here.

Les had a really good eye for talent in my opinion. Morris Claiborne and Tyrann Mathieu were both 3 star guys that didn't really excite anyone when they committed. It could have been assistant coaches/position coaches that told Les to go after those guys though I guess.

Don't give in to asinine comments. No one is NFL bound in high school. That's ridiculous. The sales world is full of former high school standouts. To act as though LSU didn't develop any of their players that went to the NFL is pure ignorance.

Morris Claiborne and Tyrann Mathieu
Both LA kids which means far more exposure and pressure to take them. Mathieu's was the #3 player in the state according to 247. Claiborne had offers from A&M and Nebraska. Not exactly diamonds in the ruff
State is always going to be better at developing low ranked players because they will always have more and depend on them more. If this whole argument is who will develop Willie better, Arnanda or Sirmon, I mean, come on

You're reaching. Mathieu tried out at numerous SEC schools and various D1 schools and couldn't get a scholly anywhere he wanted. He was given an opportunity at LSU. Don't pretend to know more about LA HS football or LSU football than LSU fans; it's unbecoming.

Mathieu was barely a 3 star athlete when LSU offered. He was just returning from Knoxville after stunning everyone there and being the only one capable of shutting down then high school junior Jarvis Landry at camp. A camp that had the likes of Lane kiffin as HC, Coach O as DL, and Frank Wilson as RB's. He then left without an offer. The traveled to BR for the camp at LSU. There he Earned an offer, and the rest is history.
Claiborne was a 2 star with minimal offers when offered.
Both worked out at camp, and both earned offers as low rank recruits.

Why don't you take a look at this and tell me if you see the correlation between players in the NFL and recruiting rankings. The majority of the schools on that list start out with the very best high school players in the country. Do you not think it is easier to develop a highly ranked player as opposed to one that is ranked much lower. Before you start spouting about a handful of players and the exceptions,I am speaking generally.

Let's not forget about OLB/MLB Chris White. Chris White was one of the most prolific defensive players in the SEC in 2010. Was 4th in tackles in the league, with 110 TT, 6 sacks, 15.5 TFL, 2 INT, and was drafted to the Bills only to have his career cut short by an early injury. He made a massive jump from '09 to '10, and was a 3* Mullen juco.
MSU has always had gritty defensive players.

I've no doubt you're speaking generally. That's why simpletons do.
You're a tard.
Aranda is a top LB coach in the country, so if this thread is about Gay being developed at LSU, you should see yourself out. MSU is a tier 3 program and you will never develop nor put players in the NFL like LSU. That is why LSU will always put recruit you. Sorry
