If you think that other quote was sig-worthy...well maybe.

I still love what the guy has done for us
you're moving the goalposts, since I don't think there is one single solitary person would would disagree with that statement.
Here's what you fox jock sniffers need to understand perfectly clear from the rest of us, if you retain nothing else retain this:
We appreciate what fox HAS DONE for this program. We acknowledge and respect where HE'S GOTTEN US. But he IS NOT THE VERY BEST coach we could possibly get. That's an undeniable fact. So why should we settle for average when we could be shooting for better?

Look, we absolutely choked that game and Fox will get and should get the majority of the blame. Our press break has always been a major issue with him (I think we did a similar thing against LSU 5 years ago) but it's not like our team will automatically just forget how to play basketball over the rest of the season.
We lost to Florida in OT on the road and we have a decent RPI and KenPom ranking.
I don't think we're going to make the tournament at this point, but I do think we still have a chance if we beat UF, SC, or UK two times between those 4+ (potentially Conference Tournament) games.

I think everybody can agree that Fox has moved the program forward, but he's reached his ceiling and it's time for somebody else to try to take the program to a higher level. Whether or not ADGM can actually hire somebody capable of doing that is a big question though.

You really think we will get in if we beat them twice????

Awesome! And you have any belief that we will do any of those because??

I get what you're saying about Crump. He has far more talent than KPG.
He just doesn't understand where to be right now. There was one time Maten or someone drove and Crump just stayed exactly where he was instead of moving to a spot on the floor where there's a passing lane.
I saw it right away and so did Fox. He pulled him over and tried to show him that what he needed to do. It's simple things like that Crump should know, but doesn't quite have the grasp of it yet. Not sure if you played basketball but that stuff is incredibly important.

Blows my mind you're up Kirby's arse in year 1 for not winning enough with a freshman QB but you're just fine with Fox failing to accomplish anything of note in 8 years and showing no improvement in basic aspects of the game. Are you really happy with just not being the absolute worst in the SEC anymore?
it wasnt about not winning enough withKirby, but thats for another thread.
The two programs have completely different histories and expectations. The basketball program has been a laughing stock 80% of its history. Fox has got us out of that stigma, and we are competitive now and have won a lot of games the past 3 years. That's impressive imo.
Obviously the next step is making the tourney regularly and winning games when we get there. Is Fox the guy to do that? IDK. He fricked up this games, no doubt. But I don't think he will get fired this year or next year, because he is gonna get a shot to push the program to the next level. And I am fine with that.

We were in Lunardi's first four out before the game today.
A lot of y'all are acting like we have Mizzou's resume.

We WERE on the bubble and then...well...Mark Fox remembered he was Mark Fox and put a stop to that shite.

Crump has more upside.... if your going to lose/suck with Pistol Geno... can you not do the same with Crump... now go write a synopsis...

People who have followed UGA basketball before Fox got here are certainly appreciative of what he's done for the program, I know I am anyway. Having a basketball program that is at least interesting to follow is nice, but now our program has evolved to the point where we need a coach whose ceiling is higher than "hopefully being a bubble team" and I don't think Fox has done anything to show that his ceiling is above that. Also, imo, gone are the days of having to be a "traditional power" in order to recruit well and elevate a program, the right coaching hire can offset not having a strong history.

Here is a legitimate post that I worthy of an upvote. Despite the fact that I disagree with you I like this post. WG posts a lot like this to. Y'all have my respect.

Seth Emerson did a mailbag last week that touched on the handcuffing Felton and Fox had/have in recruiting. Due to Harrick.
Would a new coach have that same hadncuff? Would that affect their decision to accept a job here?
Idk.

We have just recently started to get into the AAU game as that is Yassir Rosemonds recruiting playground.

I honestly don't buy the handcuffed argument... look at that fricking dump we call a stadium... look at fox and double dickhead dog thinking sucking is good with Pistol Geno compared with an upside of a 4 star guard...

Apparently we lost our last opportunity with the ball the clock stopped because of a belt malfunction with an on court official. Sounds really fishy to me. Our argument was that Frazier looked at the clock and saw 5.6 left so he didn't shoot, pivoted, and fed Maten.
I don't care what the rule book said, they should have taken the ball out of bounds where Frazier had it when the clock stopped and let UGA inbound. We wouldn't have had a good look at the basket and would have probably missed the shot but still sucks to lose the opportunity because of a belt malfunction.

FWIW, if that charge was called correctly at the end of the game KPG could have been the hero. Ya know, assuming we wouldn't have turned the ball over on the next possession anyways
