No, the interstates will not be a cluster. The Saturday race will be lucky to draw 30,000 with many of those being campers spending the weekend there. The Sunday race will have around 100k, but at half of them will be traveling North/South on Hwy 77.
Unless you're trying to go through the area from around 8 - 12am or 4-7 pm on Sunday, you won't notice much difference at all.

Monday morning on I-20 between Talladega and Birmingham will be the worst traffic of the weekend. All the campers leaving, plus normal morning commuters.

You'd be surprised how few of those there are at Talladega. Only 26% of tickets are sold in-state and most of those are businesses who hand the tickets off to customers in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, etc.

Drove by there this morning on 20 heading to ATL. The shitters havent even been moved, still in a big cluster, and the field was half full of campers already. Do Nascar fans not work???
