South Carolina is a little different. That was more of a case of a freshman QB having a bad game.

True. I wonder why, all of a sudden. Wind? maybe. Nerves? That loud techno music and white towel waving can be a little intimidating. Either way, we should have run South Carolina out of the stadium. 14 points was deceiving. That return on the onside kick, and all.

Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Nicholls legitimately whipped Georgia's OL physically.

And here is where I go against popular feelings. Those teams sold out to stop the run. They stacked the box and keyed on our tailbacks. Eason had very good games. they dared us to run and said, if you are going to beat us, you will have to do it with a freshman QB. The other games? They came after Easons's good passing games, and I think they played us normal. They did not stack the box as much and played us straight on. We did what we do best and ran the ball.

That's my guess. I have no broken down the film.....but it seems when we have one good passing game, then one good run game and it is consistently up and down like that....just seems logical to me. that's why I have defended our OL a bit more than some.
It's just a theory.

Vanderbilt and Missouri actually just had better players in their front 7

Not so sure about Vanderbilt. Missouri...maybe. They are both defensive teams, so you might be right. It could just be as simple as what you said.

I have a lot of theories!

I've been reading some of these posts and wanted to jump in to note that our (the Arkansas) O-line for this year certainly isn't what it was the last few seasons. We lost three starters from last season LINK so it has been a patchwork affair this year with personnel being moved around. We really saw no run blocking to speak of until the last game despite having good RB's and many of us had the same concerns with our O-line as some of the UGA fans on here had about the O-line on your team. And of course if the O-line can't run block then having great RB''s doesn't help much.

On pass blocking they were pushed around pretty good by Alabama and aTm. Most of us think they've still got quite a bit of work to do and I don't think I'd say they are top tier this year by any means. LINK
