I haven't smoked any cigars yet (unless you count black and mild) and wanted to see what the best cigars are to get. Which ones do y'all like?

Try out Pom-Poms or The Game cigars. Both are good quality

Ok I'll look into both, thanks.

Padron's, Romeo and Juliet, Opus, Cohiba are the cigars you seek.

which opus and padrons cigar do you like the best? Like the best cigar each one makes.

my taste may differ from yours, but I like a dark maduro wrapper in a Robusto size. The maduro is a stronger smoke, so if you're not accustomed, it may be too much. IMO, the Padron 1964 Anniversiro Exclusivio is the finest cigar allowed by our Congress (currently). Any of the OpusX in Robusto burns well.

Cohiba's are really good. I used to smoke a lot of Partagas Limited Reserves back when I was much younger. I haven't smoked a cigar in a long, long time.

Padrons may be a bit strong for him.
Suggest visiting a local cigar store & seeking their advice.

I prefer a mild cigar which is a good starting point for someone new to cigars. Depending on the price, and I am an Olivia fan boy but my favorite $10 cigar is the Olivia Connecticut. Their series v is pretty awesome.

Many Cuban cigars are less expensive than Padron & Opus, & are the best in the world.
However, not all taste buds agree.

I will probably try the Olivia Connecticut. Seems like it would be a good first one.

Derail:
If you quit smoking 2 years ago, and someone offers you a cigar at a wedding/etc, is it ok?
My buddy quit smoking for a while, then got into cigars because you aren't "inhaling" and he just ended up smoking again.

Yeah, that never works man. I'd advise you to politely decline

I agree with V&S. I'd been off tobacco for 5 years and deployed to the desert where we had access to Cubanos and it only took one of those to get back on the horse.
And the Monticristo is an excellent smoke for a novice.
