Georgia is young. They have some pieces. Where UGA has failed in recent years is winning the recruiting battle with other SEC teams for quality depth talent in the trenches. We have recruited pieces but haven't filled the pie. It's already evident that the new coaching staff acknowledges this. Kirby himself alluded to us not being big enough or SEC ready at the line of scrimmage in the spring. At this time, we have some young takent that will get bigger and will mature. But until you can honestly look at the depth chart and really be comfortable with saying "we're 2 deep" along the lines of scrimmage, expect mediocracy.

I agree. We were recruiting for a zone blocking scheme for a couple of years. And not even doing a great job at that (failure at the tackle positions almost annually in recruiting ).

Still... it is sad that we couldn't get push against a D2 opponent. Losing 2 tackles in the offseason without anyone other than Wynn semi-prepared is flat out sad.
