quote:oh i don't want you to at all - this is UForfeit's doing and it needs to be fixed in the most equitable fashion. Equitable isn't LSU loses a home game and plays 3 conference road games in 12 days. Equitable is swapping one SEC game for another and moving a bye week one week ahead. plenty of time to get the logistics worked out - even moving the game to a home game for UGA in Athens.
this is yalls mess, we aren't getting dragged into it. Despite what some may think, the entire league doesn't have to bend over backwards to accommodate LSU.
I think WLOCP gets moved or the game isn't played.

If LSU feels so slighted and BUTTHURT and wronged by the SEC and the BIG 12 will be happy to have you don't let the door hit you on the way out

ok? Once again, that's LSU's mess to figure out not UGA's. Involving 3 teams in a mess that only affects 2 teams is utterly stupid and illogical. Again, UGA nor anyone else owes it to LSU to accommodate.
Was it "equitable" that UGA had to play @Auburn back to back in 12 and 13 to accommodate expansion? No, but that's a mess between us and auburn to deal with, not anyone else.

yeah maybe for LSU. How is that equitable for UGA who has nothing to do with this?

The WLOCP is going to be played no matter what I assure you of that.

I'd be okay with 11/19 if ATM is okay with moving to Saturday. What say u aggies

Moving the WLOCP would cost the conference way too much money. Buyouts to UGA, CBS, Everbank Stadium, the City of Jacksonville, etc.
Florida just forfeiting the game is more likely. And that's unlikely.

lol ok. Wanna bet?
I think either the WLOCP gets moved it UForfeit/LSU doesn't get played.

the path of least resistance is the game being canceled which is currently is. Involving even MORE teams and rearranging MORE schedules is the exact opposite of "least" resistance. Cmon man.

Well hte WLOCP is 100% not being moved for yall, so yeah I'd say the latter is the most likely.

If not then you're right. Issue closed, LSU and UF play 7 conference games. Will be a shite storm if UForfeit's gamble works and they make the SECC game by dodging LSU.

This game is contracted to be played on that weekend in Jacksonville and televised by CBS years in advance. If that contract is broken, the injured parties gets compensation.
UGA getting a buyout is obvious. The game isn't worth as much to CBS in a different location. That's why.

UGA getting a buyout is obvious.
quote:lets assume you're right that less people would watch the game because it's not in Jacksonville. You're not taking about a total loss but a partial loss. People would still watch just slightly less people.

I really don't think you're grasping the absolute shitstorm that would happen at UGA if this got moved. A home game would not adequately make up for that.
UGA has a fall break around the UF game. Fans have week long rentals down there. WLOCP is the biggest event on UGA's football calendar.
McGarity would need to get a buyout to save his own job.

# 1 works and will happen if Florida reimburses LSU for its loss of a home game. It's not pocket money though 5 to 8 million. That's why it won't happen. Unless the SEC forces LSU to do it without compensation. Which would be a travesty .

so now we're moving both the location and date of a much more important game...just to accommodate LSU. Makes sense.

If the game gets played someone else is getting the short end of the stick and it might be UGA (could also be Tenn, TAMU, Ark, Ole Miss, etc).
I don't get how you're blaming LSU. We did not create the situation. We did everything we could to avoid the situation but now we're here and need a solution that is as equitable as possible. Equitable doesn't mean no one gets harmed.

i think the TV contracts will be too difficult to manage since it is a Thanksgiving day game.
They could always move the egg bowl or some other game into that spot. I don't think that should hold up moving the game whatever the case
