Ole Miss must have signed a ton of guys because I know they lost some guys to the draft. That's impressive to see them still up that high.

I'm pretty sure that we ended up not losing any to the draft. We had a couple projected to go high (2 catchers, a SS, and a couple pitchers that I can remember) but all ended up dropping too far and made it

I was wondering recently how the limited scholarships work... if a player agrees to a 20% scholarship as a freshman and then has an All American year will schools bump up the %? Or will schools bump down the %?

I can see schools bumping down the % but can't see many schools bumping up the % very significantly. Anybody know?

They lost at least one guy that signed with the Cardinals. Because I follow the Cardinals, I may be overestimating the impact the draft had on Ole Miss though.

Scholarships are renewed year over year. How each percentage is determined has so many variables playing into it that it's hard to say how each coach decides.

Some of the things that play into it include:
-Performance
-Recruiting promises
-Family's ability to pay
-non-athletic scholarship money
-percentage of available allocation
-how badly they want to keep the kid on campus

among many other factors.

ETA: My mistake on them losing a kid to the Cardinals. He was a State commit.
