He already left there for Arky. LSU is a better job than Arky, so I don't see why the hell not.

Thank God. He and that program are made for each other. Scumbag and despiration for relevance go well together.

What about Bobby Petrino?

LSU should target Petrino. Would bring instant credibility to them, seeing as how he is such as upstanding citizen.

He wouldn't go simply for the hit his reputation (which he is trying to rebuild) would take from jumping to yet ANOTHER job. He said when he was rehired by Louisville that he'd be there as long as they wanted him to, and I actually believe he was telling the truth this time.
Besides, hes obviously a good in-game coach but off the field he's toxic with anything he touches. HS coaches in Arkansas and Texas wouldn't let him in the door his last couple years here, and the Cotton Bowl wouldn't invite us back as long as he was our coach because of the way he treated everyone like dirt.
LSU's offensive production would have the fans on cloud 9 for the first 3 years, until his own recruits started kicking in and the defense became totally inept. He got extremely lucky with an in-state crop of talent at Arkansas; the likes we had never had before, and he's doing the same at Louisville with leftovers from the last regime.

I'm pretty sure Petrino's buyout is the upwards of $10 million or so through the first four years at UofL. No way LSU is going to pay to buyout Les, then throw in to help Petrino get out of dodge.

He'll stay at Louisville at least one more year. He's built them up, now he will reap the rewards. Petrino will be cleaning up his division and conference, while watching all these other programs wallow in turmoil looking for coaches. Smart to stay, for now.
