Ok, so Miles is gone obviously.
Who do they hire? Who are the "homeruns" this year? Tom Herman?
The possibilities of them botching this are endless. Name potential botch hires for the lulz. They will likely come true.
ETA: Kirby Smart is an excellent example of what could happen. Muh Christ

Tom Herman is going to get to choose a tier 1 program to go to when the timing is right.

Kiffen to lsu would be incredible

They have very little shot at Herman if other big jobs open up. Not sure how many coaches want to jump into the toughest division when they'd be working with such a flaky administration and bipolar fanbase.

Tom Herman isn't going to LSU this year, just like Jimbo wasn't last year. He's a pipe dream, at best.
They'll end up with like Bo Pelini or something and it will be hilarious.

They will get a solid, but unspectacular, hire. And there will be wailing across the bayou.

Yea nothing like a coaching job where the replacement coached for 11-12 years and the coach before left on his own accord.
so Shakey.

Appearing in two national titles and winning one. Never coming close to a losing season. Always top recruiting classes.

Never mind, you fixed it

I think there's a better chance Herman goes to ND. The Irish aren't finished losing. You don't give up almost 500 yards and lose to Duke in South Bend and live to tell about it. And no, LSU wouldn't outspend ND. We're talking about a school that helped make Charlie Weis the fifth highest paid coach in the country in 2014...even though he was out of football and 5 years gone from ND.
Better situation, better administration, easier schedule, easier path to the playoffs.

It isn't like LSU has the highest paid staff in the country

ND will throw a busload of money at him.
There's a 0% chance LSU can hire a coach that ND also wants.

Chip is more likely than Herman.
I think they end up pulling Fedora from UNC.
